First iOS 8 Banner Appears at Moscone Ahead of WWDC

I use the iPhone 4 too only because I've been waiting for 6 for what seems to be eternity+1! What is it like to carry the iPhone 4? Like a giant boulder chained around my neck!

You were one of those people? Didn't you realize after a while that the iPhone 5 was really the iPhone 6th gen, and maybe you should give up on the naming scheme nonsense?

Yup. Interesting shift to Myriad for the '8'.

I thought that at first as well, but I'm kinda leaning towards Lucida Grande. It's one or the other. They use both Myriad and Lucida Grande on apple.com. Either way, thank you Apple for ditching Helvetica Neue!

It's Myriad Set Pro Ultralight. Apple uses it on the 30 years of Mac page.

I extracted it from there and here is it side-by-side.

The iOS 7 banner from last year was a fairly accurate preview of the new design (bright neon colors, lots of white space and ultra thin fonts.

If the iOS 8 banner is indeed an indication of how it will look I can expect: less white/darker theme, more professional/refined look and a thicker typeface.

It's also reminiscent of the iOS 6 banner from WWDC 2012.

This is the iOS 6 banner.

I don't see much similarity. At least Apple stopped using that "world's most advanced operating system" tagline.

I tend to agree with others that the banner signals under the hood changes. I don't see the design changing much.

crazy thoughts on the iOS 8 banner

waterproof software
two watches on each other :roll eyes:

Come on:D

Some of the comments on here are truly laughable :D All these 'water' theories just because the banner has some water in it - don't be ridiculous!!!! The poster for WWDC2012 for iOS 6 had water in it and iOS 6 had NOTHING to do with water...!!!!!

Let's just see what iOS 8 will TRULY bring on Monday.......

Hoping for some UI tweaks that make it more polished, a Healthbook app that works on more than just the iPhone 5S, and improved Siri and Maps. Hopefully there will be some nice surprises, too.

I'm also hoping that iOS 8 is compatible with the iPhone 5 and not just the 5S. Anyone think it will still work on an iPhone 4?

From other reports they pulled iOS developers to focus on OSX, so I think this WWDC is going to be more OSX centric, where as prior years was more focused on iOS
