It took 13 years to get from Mac OS X 10 to Mac OS X 10.1 (Plus an elementary Math error.) But they go through iOS major builds like crazy. I agree it really should be something worth the new build number at this point because it's been essentially the same since the first revision.

So where's the OS X 10.10 banner?

OSX 10.1 is not the same as OS X 10.10.

As both Sony and Samsung both make very high end mobiles that are IP rated and water resistant to a shallow depth over some time.
And seeing as an iPhone it not even rated for being used when you are outside caught in a tiny rain shower.

Given the watery nature of this image.

Do you think they are finally going to release the iPhone 6 and iOS8 as Apple's 1st equally water resistant phone ?

Doubt it. Making something water resistant comes at a cost. Worse sounding speakers and mic and who wants to fish out a rubber plug with their thumbnail every time the want to charge their phone?

Maybe not, but what do they have against 11? We've been through 7 major iOS builds to date going on the 8th. Point is hopefully its spectacular.
"10.n" are major builds. The "10" is not really part of the version number, it's much more a brand name. The OS is called "OS X". Actually, it has been explained a thousand times in every single thread that is even remotely connected to that topic.
