Happy to hear about the 2GB of ram but like everyone has already said: Give me back my 1mm and 90 minutes of battery!

Has anyone done a more detailed review of the speed differences with 802.11ac vs n?

I wonder when we'll have a serious gadget review site like the ones in the pc world (Tom's Hardware) or digital cameras (DP Review).

The anti glare coating, applied by different factories under different conditions, is going to produce different color casts on the screens at different viewing angles, and it's going to set people off.

You heard it here first...

I still don't understand why the mute button had to go :( I love it
Yeh, they could have just made it smaller or placed it at the top instead. I mean if they can keep the volume buttons then why couldnt they keep the mute button.

But for myself personally, I'm already used to losing a valuable feature of an iDevice with the iPod Touch 5. It is still a pain to have to manually adjust screen brightness. I really miss the autobrightness sensor. :( I was hoping for an iPod Touch 6 with the sensor re added. But sigh. No iPT. :(

Can't wait for iPad Air 2. It's been way too long .. since I got excited about an Apple product. :p

Waiting for the next iPad (hopefully) which incorporates the smooth rounded screen edge, a la iPhone 6 and 6+. Keep getting weight indents between thumb and index finger when holding the iPad. As for speed and performance, the 1st iPad mini retina will do for now...

This iPad would be perfect if it was rounded like the iPhone. Of course Apple purposely will make you wait another year for that, which they always do.

I too am hoping for better battery life eventually. I'm tired of the thinness. At this rate the following could be the iPad Air 3 :D

This is theeee ipad of ipads. It's a monster! I don't see them going any thinner next year. The a9x will be more efficient and maybe we will see 15 hours on an iPad. I think battery life is the next change. We now have the iPad everyone has wanted.

As long as it's still 10 hours, I'd be one of the first to buy one of those.

I'll be upgrading from my iPad 1. I'm assuming safari will be snappier?

It'll stay snappy for longer periods of time because of th 2 GB of ram

Wait... why would they get rid of the mute/orientation lock switch?

Guess I'll be keeping my Air for another year after all.

Don't care about battery, but for the sake of mute/rotate button i think they should've leave the thinness as it is

Walt Mossberg sounds like he was in a bad mood.

Nah, he sounds correct. Not everyone has to drink the kool aid. Sometimes we need to take a step back and look at things differently. I agree with Walt.

If they really did fix the tabs with the 2gb memory then it is pretty sad that they released the 6 and 6 plus with one gb memory, got a ton of peoples money (knowing they would) and will most likely release the 2gb ram iphone version next year for another grab at your money. It is the drip/drug system. They give you enough know you'll complain all the while having the vision to just keep you coming back for more as their pockets get fatter and fatter.

I bet you can't wait for next years model. Thinner than paper with 30 minutes of battery.

hilarious, but battery life hasn't gotten worse. My iPhone 6 lasts all day. I don't need it to go longer than that. If they have an option for a thicker phone with better battery life that's fine, but I don't want to carry around a thick phone all day.

Jony Ive must be a pencil dick with his obsession with thinness. I wonder when the Apple Watch comes out if he'll request all the models who wear it be anorexic; that sort of things seems to be right up his alley.

Getting a little sick and tired of this thinness crap; the metal is constantly being shaved down so it's weaker and weaker, and now we (the consumers) are forced to deal with soldered non-replaceable components in their computers and less battery life in their iLineup.

Remember when we all waited an entire year for the retina ipad mini?
Those were some fun times.... :)

Recharge Time

Does anyone know how long it takes to charge the iPad Air 2?

Part of the reason I like the smaller battery is I'm hoping there's a big reduction in the time it takes to charge. Nobody talks about this as a "feature" but my iPad 3 takes forever to charge and I'd love a quicker charge time.
