First iPhone 4 Camper spotted

Tonight is Game 7 of a fantastic NBA Finals series. Saturday, I have a birthday party for my friend's daughter. Sunday, I get to spend time with my dad for Father's Day. There's also the World Cup, hanging out with my wife and friends, etc. That's a whole lot of living that I'd miss out on by camping for a stupid phone. I truly don't understand these people. But I'm glad I'm not one of them.

How do you even pass a week's worth of time out there? Extreme boredom, followed by going stir crazy?

I would like to know this guy's name...make sure he is not a friend of a friend of mine...because I will just have to cut that entire chain from my group of friends. I cannot be associated with this dude....
 
now see ya'll can hate and call him a nerd but I GUARANTEE this guy has his ducks in a row (has a reservation) and will walk out of that Apple store with a shiny new iPhone. He won't be the ones who roll out of bed at 11:30 AM and then WHINE AND COMPLAIN when Apple is all out of phones, nor will he be on this board posted up in the "I WAITED IN LINE FOR FIVE MINUTES AND DIDN'T GET AN IPHONE" thread where no doubt people will scream and shout that Apple killed their first born.

I know, I have tried to explain my girl why it's important to reserve phones on 24th, to her it was crazy that I was willing to spend 3 hours trying to reserve it......camping 7 days for a phone would not work with her, that's fir sure :D.

if I tried to tell my wife I would be camping at an apple store for 7 days I think she would draw up divorce papers or try to get me committed or both. I camp for fun/relaxation...not for phones.

So will hundreds of other people in Dallas and hundreds of thousands elsewhere who aren't sleeping outside for a week.

Ya think? And this sure isn't going to do anything to change that.

I'm glad my ship to home pre order went through as I couldn't even get out of taking my kids to daycare/summer camp that morning and wouldn't be able to get there until 9:30-10 am.
 
He's not all that different from the dopes that are going to waste an entire day of their lives next Thursday doing the same thing. For a phone. It's equally pathetic.
 
Are you allowed to pretty much pitch a tent in the middle of any sidewalk that has an Apple store? You'd think the cops would give him crap for that or something.
 
Seriously, if it's as hot as the Dallas folks here have been saying, the Apple store should ask him to go home and come back next week, like Wednesday. Or call the cops to ask him to leave if they don't have the authority to do so.

Just called and I told her in order to get our phones I would need to show up early morning of 23rd and stay whole day 23rd and 24th. Her response was "what's wrong with you, are you crazy? I do not want that stupid phone".

Heheh priceless......
 
I understand how great the phone is, and I've been caught up in the hype as much as the next guy, but you have to be seriously screwed up to camp on a street corner for 7 days just for a phone. This really scares me that people want these things so badly. Camping out the night before is fine, I know some people enjoy the experience, but this is pure insanity. It's not normal.
