I can understand his motivation of doing it for the experience but as someone who has done MANY campouts for items like iPhones, Xbox's, PS3's, Wii's, and Black Friday .. I don't really see a conceivable reason to sit outside of an Apple Store for a week, especially when you have the item guaranteed. I do Black Friday for the experience, but your really are there for the item.

Sure he will come out of this say it was "one of the best experiences of his life," or something like that. But the glory of the camp out is getting what you went for in your hand finally, and seeing people drive by with them a day in advance after waiting a week would've been pretty disheartening.

Well, I'll give a quick update. I dropped Justin off @ home about 45 minutes ago. I assume he's still soaking in the tub. ;) He'll probably crash hard and get some much needed rest before posting an update.

But he got his iPhone as well as a bumper for it. Forgot to ask what color he got.

I got there around 4:45 am and was about 300th in line. Around 5:30 the split they lines which put me closer to 60th. I think they took a 5/1 ratio of reserved to non-reserved. By 8:15 I walked out with my iPhone. Ran home and showered, came back and gave Justin a ride home. As soon as I got to work, walked into the CIOs office and let him marvel over the new iPhone. :p

Yep, that was me in that 'ol clunker and the mullet...

I think I'll test my iPhone 4g by going to the tent and taking pics & HD video of of those waiting in line. :D
HAHHAHAHHAHHA .. someone drove by the people in line, me included, and held out thier iPhone 4 saying "HAHA I got mine first" WAS that YOU... :)

I could've had a better used car but I bought the iPhone instead. Thanks for having a sense of humor, unlike those other bozos that gave me the finger. :(

You are so kind, Geckotek. Thanks for helping Justin out. Good to know there are good people like you out there. :)

A Final Update and Thank You from Justin

Hi guys,

After a very long eight days for waiting in line I was finally able to buy and get my hands on a new iPhone 4 this morning.

It was a long a crazy night as people from all over lined up at the Knox Street Apple Store in Dallas, TX. Over 300 showed up for the launch and someone even brought a swimming pool!

The past eight days have been a new experience and adventure, which is the main reason I came in the first place. Not for attention, but to experience and live a portion of my life the way I wanted it to be by doing something different and crazy that no body else would have the guts to do. The second reason would be to get the new phone.

Things and money will never define who you are, but doing what you want to do and living your life without someone running it for you will make you a better person and give you a better way of seeing the way life should be. That is the moral of my story and part of the reason why it got the media's attention worldwide. We all live in a crazy world today and sometimes we all fall short to realize this.

Thanks to everyone who have kept up with following my adventure and story the past week. I also thank those for give out of their good heart for their generous support and gifts even though I wasn't expecting anything in return. It's good to know there are still good people in this world and those who like to give.

Thanks again!
Justin

Ok I with justin had a blast down at the apple store on knox. I made some friend and now I know what to expect next year. See y'all ther

Justin is an attention whore

I love the comment from Justin about it just being for the experience not the attention. I was in line and overheard a guy talking to him and mistakingly the guy said Justin was first in line at the store. Justin cut him off mid sentance and yelled, "Excuse me! I am first in the WORLD, thank you very much!" then stormed off. Later when I was walking to the restroom I heard some people talking about another case of him demanding that people acknowledged that he was first I. The world not just at the store. I even was in the employee area of the apple store for a long time because of a special issue with my account and saw the employees showing off a particular bad photo of Justin that got on the front page of the Dallas Morning News and one guy said "Man that guy is such a dick" and one of the other employees said I know. There were like 5 people and no one seemed to disagree.

I thought he would be a nice guy but no he is just the kind of person you would expect to line up 8 days early.

Sorry to ruin your hopes and dream I thought he would be a nice guy but no just the kind of person you would expect to line up 8 days early.

Its over, this post is pointless. Sour Grapes.
