First iPhone 4 Camper spotted

As of 5:30pm CT there are around 40 in line. Get this. Someone even brought a swimming pool and people are enjoying relaxing by skinny dipping. Tonight is going to be one wild party!

Mean while, the Southlake Store has over 100 in line already according to a report from a store manager.

Tonight's Final Update for MacRumors

Alright everyone,

This is tonight's final update for MacRumors. All future updates will be posted on www.iPhoneFirstInLine.com where I will be providing the latest coverage.

At this point there are around 55 in line, and more will be arriving overnight.
To slim that down, only 2 of those in line are those who have pre-ordered. Everyone else in line are walk-ins.

Sadly, some of those in line for walk-ins will not be getting a phone in the morning due the extremely limited amount of phones available. It will be first-come first serve and will be limited to 2 per person.

Here are some photos that show what it looks like outside as of 8:15pm CT.

If you have any questions are comments for the postings on the website, a new forum has been started. You can post and follow them here and I will be following it to answer as many questions as possible on the website. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/947972/

Do you know for fact that not all people in line will get one or are you just suggesting because of the shortages?

I did a drive by around 2pm and there were about 10 people. we knew 4-5 was gonna be when it got crazy and we were planning on going before then but to make a long story short our day turned to sh-t... Cash flow problem and we turned to selling our 3G's on CL, to solve the cash flow problem, apparently the 3G's went from $300 to $200 in 4 days. People were selling
3G's for $100 WTF! We were desperatly trying to sale our 3G's to get the new iphone and ended up making the money but by that time it was 6:30 and we were like 56 in line and all the people ahead of us were buying 2 phones each.. We stuck around until 9pm then said screw it. We are gonna hit the NorthPark mall at 5am and see if we can come out with a phone!

The "mall security" is not allowing any "camping out" which means a free for all and I like our odds better at the mall than at Knox! We will see, Kinda not happy with Apple right now... I do not like the way they have handled any of this..

And that is why we Left// Lol.. Would HAVE been super pissed if i waited 12 hours to hear sorry we are out//

I dont get it though rumors from Radio Shack and Walmart is that they did not get the preorders for thier stores because of the "demand." If they did not get part of that 600K of preorders where did they go..

Apple and AT&T really screwed this one up. Very unhappy with Apple right now. This is getting old. They need to meet the demand or at least come close!
 
Jesus, camping out is so stupid. It's just a bunch of drama queens getting excited over nothing.

"omg I heard they only got 5 in"

When we lefft at 9:30 the line was wrapping around the building... Had to be at least 100 people waiting.. Apple employees were saying they "knew how many extra they had" but were going to let the lines wrap around the building! Shame on them.. Why would you let the line get longer and have people wait 12 hours and you may not have enough?

maybe I am wrong and the store had 200 extra, if so then I am an idiot for leaving, but from what people said about the 3G and 3GS release they usually only carry 20-30 extra..

Hey thats me standing in the back with the white hat and blue shirt playing on my iphone! I was and I am still sooo tired I have been up for 34 hours as of now.. This phone is my crack!

lol that's why I decided not to camp out! I knew I would end up punching an employee if they told me they ran out of iPhone's. I'll wait till Friday to see if they have any from the people who didn't pick theirs up.

Good luck on getting an iPhone at Northpark; make sure to RUN LIKE HELL when the mall doors open :D

I want ONE sooo bad tonight! Worst case ill wait to th 28th when AT&T lets walk ins buy em.. Sad part is we sold our other iphones so now no phone until we get the new iphone..
 
I have a new business idea for Apple:

They should run i-camping-sites near their shops when a new gadget is due :D
 
I hope several new iPhone 4 owners from Tuesday and Wednesday have had the opportunity to stop by and wave at this moron while talking on their new iPhone 4s! Got mine via FedEx yesterday morning and LOVE it.

"I'm first in line for weeks and I'm gonna get the new iPhone before everyone else...."

You seem a little bitter... You'd think having gotten your phone, you'd be a bit happier and a bit more charitable?

He never said he was doing it to get the phone first in the whole world. He knows pre-orders are coming early. He did it for the fun of it, and he's not hurting anyone, so I don't see why you've got so much hatred for him, calling him a "moron", ect.

What? Why are you whining on apple that you had to sell your 3GS for smallchange and not getting to stand in line hanging out? Why, why didn't you pre-order if you want it so bad so you can't wait a few days extra?

You are whining and bitching like a small child for candy in the store and mama wont let you have it :rolleyes:

Yea I'm in the same situation, I'm stuck without an iPhone and I have to use this stupid Windows Mobile phone for the time being.
