First iPhone 4S Deliveries Made to German Customers Ahead of Official Launch

I woke up at 2:45 am to order on the 7th but mine still says preparing for shipment, should I be worried?

UPS has a world port in Louisville and its main European air hub is in Cologne. As a Louisvillian, I'm hoping for an early delivery, maybe on Wednesday. Usually in these situations they just hold the package until the scheduled delivery day. I've never gotten anything early.

Nope, go here and Track by Reference, then put your phone number in as the reference, it should pop up with a tracking number hopefully.

Yes, but it's very subtle.

4S has the extra breaks in the metal rim that the CDMA iPhone has, plus a SIM card slot that the CDMA iPhone doesn't - making it unique

I ordered mine from Apple directly and it still says "processing items" and the delivery date is still October 14th. Being that it is the 11th and it has not shipped, I have no clue how it will get to my house by the 14th.

The 4S has an additional black line over the mute-switch... If you see this, then you'll know that it is NOT an GSM-iPhone4

Lucky Germans! I can't wait for my iPhone 4S to come. I ordered mine around 4:50 AM launch day, and it just left Alaska yesterday. I really hope I get it early, but I'm not holding my breath...

Probably alot of iPhones on that plane, mine is on it as well. Left Anchorage late last night/early this morning, depending on the time zone your in.

Although Apple put phones into shipping stream early, my guess is that included were instructions to hold off delivery until the 13th or 14th. The German carrier whoever it was, simply ignored the instructions and delivered early.
