I have been waiting for the 6 to come out long way... now its out I don't see much of a big difference from the 5s :( only bigger screen ... I have been looking at both Apple and Android based phones ....

Ill wait till i have one in my hands... im kinda leaning towards the 2 day battery of Sony Z3, waterproof phone...

just my 2 cents

It's ridiculous that so many of these reviews do battery tests with the screen "at 100% brightness". How many people use their phones at max brightness? Almost no one. That is really measuring an entirely different thing than you want and is misleading. It just sounds lazy, like they couldn't wait for a test at real-world levels to complete.

Note 3 owner and I'm not impressed. If the iPhone 6 plus caught up to the Note 3 then Note 4 has no problem winning phablet of the year.

Now I agree with you.

However, unlike everyone else that will make things up and attempt to call it a rebuttal I'll throw in a real perspective.

As a Note 2 owner, that has loved the phone since day one, I'm going with the iPhone 6+

I've never seen the appeal of the Note 3 or 4 . . . . maybe the 4 Edge, but the other two are worthy updates, but don't offer much over the Note 2, which SOARED above the Note 1.

I see why iPhone users got fed up with each iPhone update. The enhancements were tiny at best. I see that with the Note 3 and 4.

The only reason I'm jumping ship is because i have to run iWork and I use my iPod and iTunes religiously. I'm getting even closer to the elusive "One Device To Rule Them All" that I've been dreaming about since my Palm TX circa 2003, that really did everything but make phone calls.

...and a significantly improved camera.

Though to be honest, I have never really seen a reason for upgrading from one model to the immediate next model. That is why most people follow a two-year approach, where they always upgrade either on the "tick" or on the "tock". I am upgrading from the 4S this time, and the jump will be gigantic.

I think it has more to do with the time they had the phone, and the nature of getting a review up as fast as possible.

On the up side, you know the battery will last WAY longer.

You have to take the 2 days of battery life (on the Plus) statement with a grain of salt. He said that was up from the 1 1/2 days he'd get with his 5S. I don't know about most of you but my 5 would barely make it through a full day. Still though if I only have to worry about charging it once a day with fairly heavy use (and I expect that to be the case) I'll be pretty happy.

I still get 2 to 4 days on my 4S, with its 3 year old battery. That is admittedly under light use, but 2 "ish" days for a new much more massive phone does not sound impossible.

Very sad to see how much energy is being spent arguing the merits of a cell phone when there are just a few things in the world that are just slightly more important.

Perhaps that energy could be better invested in improving your local government, putting spare time to some exercise, volunteering, etc?

I'm sure the 6 and 6+ are good phones, but the hysteria around them on both sides shows a distinct lack of perspective.

Of course they're gonna write a good review of the phone. They like it how apple chooses them every year for "exclusive review" before every other tech-site which boosts their webpage traffic therefore making them earn higher profits from their site. Only an idiot would say "this phone is nothing special in comparison to other phones, the design is ugly and it only has 1gb of ram" and risk that Apple wont send them new device next year. Its so obvious that its funny.

So someone actually thought the words "hold" and "use" have identical meanings? That seems to be the basis of that image and showcases a pretty low level of English language comprehension skills.

I m holding my smartphones to use them...
If you like only to admire their design it s your choise.

nevertheless 6 simple for me would do.;)

They are using a 20 nm process in a 64 bit chip do you want to get better better battery management from that alone. And then you add the enhancements and iOS 8 then it starts to add up it's not about all out specs well maybe it is you just didn't consider the other pieces to the puzzle

Maybe you haven't considered the puzzle. All the improvements are not going to lead to a 400% battery life improvement.

The 16/64/128 memory options are definitely a chicken**** move by Apple to maximize profits. It's indefensible.

... But please, don't let me stop you from trying. ;)

Wait a sec. The problem all those years was that apple was charging $100 for an extra 16 GB. Now they give you three times that for $100, and it's still not good? Perhaps. But it's still three times better than before ;)

You mean as the complaints why that damned safari keeps reloading tabs wash them away?

You do realise that is directly related to the low amount of memory?

Its related mostly to programming first and then memory, CPU and storage subsystem interacting.

Implementation makes all the difference.

For example,

If you had a beast CPU able to compact unused memory structures on the fly on an unused core when you don't need them (and vice versa when you do), well you'd need not much memories at all for Web browsing.

You can also make you storage access and CPU much quicker and thus can get things back into memory faster.

Dunno, I've always gotten great battery life out of my 4S. Just a little web surfing every day, some casual games, a dozen email checks, and some iBooks (which the screen is too small for). Probably average 5-15 minutes of calls per day and maybe a dozen SMS, take a few photos here and there. Might be because it spends a lot of time on wifi and I don't use the GPS much (I notice the battery going down much faster when I do). I also have a very strong 3G signal from Verizon, so it doesn't need to boost antenna power to hunt for signal much.

I m holding my smartphones to use them...

Yes, but holding it with one hand does not imply that you use it with one hand.

I can hold a Note 3 in one hand without any problems whatsoever, but it is completely impossible to use it with one hand (and the same probably goes for the 6 Plus). Is it so difficult to understand the difference between "holding" and "using" in that sentence?

Right... No one has integrity in the whole world... But you. The argument of every single conspiracy podperson in the whole world.

So, if I find a bad review anywhere in the past; I'm sure there are some, that's because this person suddenly grew balls. Did I get that right?

Good grief!!

Same for me. Still using my 4S, and still quite happy with the battery life. In fact, when all this stuff about wall-hugging iPhone users and poor iPhone battery performance appeared, I was completely surprised until I realized that, apparently, it's a 5/5S problem (which for some reason, I had not heard about before).

I still put my phone to my ear when speaking many times so for me, the plus is too big. Anyway, can't wait until Friday. I'll be at my local AT&T store 04:30 in NYC waiting for my iPhone 6.

Buy an Apple Watch and then you take calls received on your iP6 on your watch. So cool!

While I would have liked to see 32/64/128, I'm just thrilled they didn't stick with 16/32/64 with $100 price bumps. I remember the iPhone 5S keynote when they announced the storage sizes and prices, I swear I could hear crickets. I think that made them realize that they had to do something different for the 6.

Yet, you spent your time typing this on a site were you knew enthousiast are and would read this. Wanted to climb on your moral high horse and inspect the scene?

Seriously, everytime I hear those argument I laugh! YOu can discuss this in the morning and then go spend the rest of the day knee deep in blood fighting ebola.

You think everyone should focused on their life goal of saving the world every single minute of every day. Do you know the lives of everyone you look down on? Mankind of full of little irrational passions, that's what makes us human and not robots.

So... the iPhone 6 rocks around (on the camera) and it's better with a case, negating all the size savings. A leather case might feel pretty good though, other manufacturers have been making rubberized rear shells of a while now. The case solves the issue of the protruding camera and the unpleasant looking back of the phone I guess. Might have to try out that combo.

I’ve always liked that iPhones start nice and thin because I always use a case, and a thin, well designed case on a thin, well designed phone makes the overall package still very trim. The additional upside with Apple products is the +huge+ number of aftermarket options. :)

I’m currently using an Elago on my 5, and I’m _assuming_ they’ll be making products for the 6 (they’re outstanding, and great customer service).
