As per usual, the Verizon website was not ready for prime time at the stroke of 12:01 Pacific. By the time it actually refreshed with the option to upgrade to an iPhone 7+, the earliest date was already pushed to 9/23. Mine is an Apple Black 256 GB.

Wish I could have used Apple's site but I'm using Verizon's upgrade program, so I had to go through their molasses field.

Bummed I won't be joining in the fun on day 1, but I'm still geeked to start snapping photos with this beauty on the 23rd.

My experience was identical to yours. Did it keep going to the "Get emails about preordering" page instead of the order page? That was so annoying.

After 2:30 on hold got to speak to someone. My issue was quite common. They said to try in the afternoon. So I did and the order completed. But despite my "reservation" and auusrances my ship time slipped 10+ days!! Not exceptable. I ordered at 12:07 and had a confirmed Sep16!

Man we got the same phone, same color, same storage, and same delivery date! Did you get a confirmation email yet? I didn't get one
Yeah, I got one from ATT (twice actually) and one from Apple. If I base it off what Apple and ATT show, my wife will get her phone about a week sooner than mine. I guess the black is either in short supply or high demand or both.

Mine is preparing for shipment. 7-128-black, my Husband's however, will be 4-10th October (7-128-JB)

Let's hope the Reserve and Pick Up works better than their sale did. I waited up last night, at 12:00 am pacific time I began refreshing their page on my mac and opening and closing the store on my phone. Neither would connect until 12:09 am pacific. Very quickly chose my model and carrier (Jet Black, ATT), chose to buy it outright and was given a ship date of mid October. Frustrating, as I travel for work and will be out of town most of October so I can't really have it shipped to deliver and canceled my order. Stayed up late for nothing.

If I go wait in line at a store overnight do you think there will be enough stock on hand or am I wasting my time again?

Preparing for Shipment - 7/ATT/Black/128GB.

This is the second iPhone I've been able to pre-order on launch day, and this is the second time I've the Apple Store App to do it without issue. I even had to pay my phone bill while I was in the check out process. I did get the reservation notice, and completed the order this morning. I am not sure if others have had the same success using the App vs. Apple Store Website. Just some food for thought for the future.

I'm just confused as to why people with ship dates in October are getting the same status of "Preparing to Ship" as the people with a ship date of launch day. When I preordered my 6 Plus through AT&T I was given a date in early October but received it on launch day. Anyone know just how far out the ship dates go for people who are now in "Preparing to Ship"?

My card has been charged for my iPhone 7 256GB Jet Black (GSM) and it's preparing for shipment. :) Oddly enough the Silver 128GB I ordered 6 minutes earlier is still processing. Ordered from Apple Store.

Are all the orders that are 'Preparing for Shipment' 7's or have people seen these for the Plus model as well?

I have two pluses on order and they are both "Perparing for Shipment" but still says not until 23rd-30th.

I ordered my jet black 7 plus this morning, and already received an email saying it was shipped, and was given a tracking number and all.

Ordered my AT&T 128 GB JB @ 4am EST. And already shipping time was Oct 14-Oct 21.

Status changed this afternoon to "Preparing to Ship". I am hoping that phone ships over the weekend. Keeping fingers crossed.

So the one post you've ever posted on MacRumors was this one. Congratulations. And given your font and picture and profile, thanks for taking the time to post misinformation on here. You didn't order one. You didn't get a shipping notification. You're not even located in a shipping country launch day.

But thanks for humoring us!

Any chance of getting the phone early if it is already preparing to ship?

About the same chance as winning the lottery based on past experience. Every year millions are ordered, and one or two slip through and are accidentally delivered... but Apple always has contracts with the carriers to hold them for delivery until launch day.

I don't get why they do this... Apple's arrogance can be really annoying. It's like they're trying to dictate everything and everyone. It's one of the things about Apple that annoys the hell out of me. No other product I've ever bought does it this way. If they announce it and you order it, and if they start shipping they get there BY launch day, but why not early, what's the downside?

I guess so...my case is still processing and my phone is preparing for shipment.

That's definitely it... cause I have one with a case and one without. The 14-16 covers the case and the phone. The phone won't be delivered early. The case may be. 99% likely they'll ship separate. You'll have a case before you have a phone sadly.
