Oh get off the Texans' backs. In my experience some of the nicest people I've met are from Texas.

Every region has its stereotypes that aren't really true. Like the Irish are a bunch of crazy Christians that are/were blowing each other apart for national domination. Or English people having bad teeth. Or people from California being smug and elitist driving their hybrid cars. Or people from New York being loud and obnoxious. Or people from Detroit that are in a perpetual state of mugging each other for better basketball shoes and burning everything down in the process.

So look in the mirror before you start flaunting around ignorant statements about somewhere you probably haven't been.

Haha, dude, you've taken it all far too seriously. Nobody here is really getting nasty towards the Texans. It's all a bit of fun. :p

Surely you can't be serious?

I've honestly never understood why people always think that being from Texas is a bad thing. There are the stereotypical Texans that we've all seen and heard of, but basing your beliefs on people from Texas solely on stereotypes is just as bad as stereotyping races, cultures, religions, etc.

I'm sorry if you have a problem with people who are proud to be from Texas and aren't afraid to show it.

I don't have a problem with Texas. I'm assuming that dude said he wished he was from there because the iPhone was there.

Hahah...he says with furrowed brows while brushing his coat back to reveal a glistening revolver, his hands hovering over it, twitching...

Hahaha.
Living in Texas all my life I've never heard many stereotypes about the state. Maybe the cowboy/southerner related ones, but that's growing increasingly inaccurate with all the suburban sprawl, developing cities etc (especially in Southern Texas). Yeah, sure there is cowboy country. But Texas is huge, we have all types :)

Any other stereotypes out there?

The iPhone was flaunted in front of so many and not one of them was able to keep it? Oh come on. Come on!!

Think really hard about what you're doing here, Lee. Do you really want to attract a bunch of effete yankees and assorted Eurotrash to Texas?

I know y'all are joking. Besides most Texans don't wear 10 gallon hats, I think people who have not been to Texas would be very surprised. There's a lot of Europeans (French and British), Hispanic (Mexico and Central America), Asians, Africans (Nigeria) and people from both the East Coast (including NY) and West coast that live in Texas, especially where I live in Houston. I like that diversity.

I love to talk about the six flags of Texas but I don't want to bore y'all ... zzzz

Now we get to find out how stable and reliable this thing really is. I have serious question on both of those aspects of the iPhone. Along with how rugged the thing is.

Unless you've lived outside of Texas, you don't hear about the stereotypes. You don't notice how you're different until you outside of your comfort zone. I went to college in Pittsburgh, and my East Coast friends would smile when I said "y'all." Other than that, I don't have an accent which they expected me to have.

Rugged? Planning to use the iPhone on safari? Or maybe on the new moon colony?

It's not going to be super rugged, considering its entire face is a screen. It'll probably get scratched very easily. You can bet that there are companies out there falling all over themselves to create iPhone "protection kits" already.

bla bla bla iPhone.. bla bla itoaster, bla bla iVaccum, bla bla bla bla iRemote...bla bla iCeillingFan.... bla bla bla iWok ..bla bla

Hmm, weird post dude. Nobody forced you to read this thread or anything!

Considering the iPhone sales and support call centers are in Austin, TX, as discussed in another thread about iPhone job postings, it is possible there are more iPhones in use in TX than anywhere else right now...

Just a thought.

.

Apple... why did you give the first public phone to an adult??? :0 :0 :0

If you want the iphone to revolutionize the world, you should have given it to a famous teen.

They would text, send photos, talk (conference call), listen to music, surf the web, etc.

That's where you should have planted the first iphone.

Duh.

Funniest post in this thread!

But you raise a good question, what will the next iPhone "first" be? I've got dibs on the first time an iPhone causes a traffic accident....

This whole story is ridiculous.

[DELETE]

If only...

Who cares? AT&T is just bragging about a project they had very little part in, comparatively and it has no place at a college commencement. LAME.

Why not give Paris Hilton an iphone now.?.?.?.?:)

She can use it to document her time in the slammer.

Or give it to her dog. Her dog can chew on it as a test for how the thing will hold up to abuse.:D

I'm so sick of going to Apple product-related rumor blogs and reading about products that were once rumored and are still pending release which will either be a make or break endeavor. I'm sick sick sick I tell you!
