Hey dlemmon;

Some information for you. If you decide to purchase the iPhone X in Australia, make sure you get a GST refund form from the store you bought the iPhone from. Make sure you save the store receipt and the box the iPhone came in. You can save more than 10 percent.

...yes, but technically you are required to declare and pay customs for the full price of the phone upon arrrivsl in the US ;)

Rumors are that all 3 phones will have Face ID and oled screens next year

Of course they will, except Apple won't be able to charge 'special edition' prices. So if you literally wait like 9 months, you can get this phone at a much lower price...and probably with better internals.

At the rate things are going, some people won't even get their X until the new iPhone is merely months away.

My Verizon order finally went from "processing" to "pending." Hopefully that's a good sign. Still nothing showing up in my UPS My Choice account, though.

I ordered mine through Sprint and haven't gotten a tracking number. I placed my order around 1:20AM Pacific Time on 10/27. My delivery date says Nov. 3 but im still stuck on "processing your order."

Still no YouTube Reviews.
Reviewers have obviously had them for some time and done their reviews, but can't upload them yet.
Anyone know when we shall see the reviews being allowed to be uploaded?
IIRC, they usually appear Weds before release Friday. The NDA reviewers get is crazy. My friend is a reviewer. He isn’t even allowed to acknowledge he has it (he does)

Unfortunately I think the precedent has been set. All new iPhone will be OLED with OLED pricing. Don’t think we will ever see an OLED iPhone below £999.

Kinda surprised that even the first pre-ordered iPhones get shipped straight from the factory in China, several months after announcement, and that there don't seem to be units already through customs sitting in American warehouses. Seems like they were busy sorting production out right until the last moments. Shipping now is 6 weeks so it seems they are already selling several weeks of future production runs, without having built up significant stock to supply for the initial demand.

We get it-- you decided not to get the phone. But telling everyone to wait 3/4 of a year for a new phone that may or may not be cheaper yada yada comes off as childish and without any real substance (you know absolutely nothing about the next phone).

You could copy and paste your same exact post next year and probably will. What's your motive here?

Getting close now although as I didn’t order direct no chance of shipping info here yet. Until then I will be charging my 6s twice a day with these annoying battery issues... roll on 11.1 as my OH wants my phone but only if the battery works resonably well!

Well a the charge just hit my account from Verizon. Pending for 10/30 (tomorrow). So I should see a tracking number sometime Monday or Tuesday I guess

I was ready at 2.55 am to preorder my iPhone X from the Apple US store. Unfortunately I learnt it was only for the chosen ones. - ATT, VERIZON, Sprint, T-Mobile. How about prepaid companies like Cricket for example? Why can't I preorder paying the full price? And.... They ship them UNLOCKED with SIM card inserted.
Funny funny funny....
My friends in Europe ordered without any problems.
Welcome to America. All is a business.
iPhone 8 (US Apple web) can be ordered without contract (full price) with no problem.

So what is your point? You have to wait a few weeks? I am in America and ordered it with no problems at all. Be here in 6 days

Apple would choke a huge portion of its customer base if they made it so you couldn't buy a new iPhone less than £1k. I think we're all about to find the upper limit of what people are willing to pay for a smartphone. It will hurt Apple if they keep being unreasonable with pricing.

People mindlessly buying an overpriced phone. That's my motive.

The price gap between high-end and low-end phones is higher than ever, and yet the feature gap between them is as small as it ever has been.

Like, there are usable phones you can get for $100 now, especially if you buy used. Companies must do something more than this to justify the 11 times higher price.

I agree with you, but I don't agree with the part about it being bad for Apple. Even if the market rejects the offer to pay $1000 for a phone (a completely ridiculous offer to have in the first place), customers will flock instead to the 'cheap' iPhone 8, allowing Apple to quietly slip the price of their base model up to $700, ($800 if you buy the plus version) and look like they're offering a good deal. And this will shortly become the new norm for iPhone pricing.

The fact that the iPhone 8 isn't selling well indicates that this is not the case, and far more customers are willing to accept $1000 as the new norm for iPhone pricing. I hope I'm wrong though, and Apple's pricing strategy does backfire. It would be better for the customer if they didn't get away with this.

My point is that pre order was only for those who participate in the iPhone Upgrade Program.

Those who have other carriers than 4 listed were not able to order. Why can't I preorder having Cricket? But I could preorder iphone 8 without the iPhone Upgrade Program.

Has anyone from the UK managed to track their order on the UPS website? I've tried with the order ref etc, but no luck.

Eh, I can wait until I get back. I do feel a little guilty that it’ll be sitting around in a box for a couple weeks while tons of people are still waiting for theirs to arrive.

My tracking info through UPS MY Choice has shown no updates in the past 12 hours. Apple order status page still not reflecting iPhone X has been shipped. Credit card charges still in pending status (will update Monday).
