I saw that, probably an employee of verizonYa, I just tried to get him to tell me how he got it early, but he wouldn't confess. 🙂
I'm picking mine up first thing tomorrow to try and get it listed before swappa gets snowed under with listings.

That's what I figured as well.I saw that, probably an employee of verizon
Interesting. On swappa.com, you have to physically have the device in hand. Looks he got one early or is selling a review unit?

Why would you be hosed?Well...looks like it sold...wonder who that could have been to...
I requested a full invoice of his purchase - worst case I get a refund if I get hosed.
I didn't think anyone on macrumors would pay so much for a phoneWell...looks like it sold...wonder who that could have been to...

I hope by posting it here I didn't make that Verizon employee any more money. I honestly didn't think anyone here would bid on it.Launch day delivery to me beats "some time in December delivery". I write it all off as a business expense anyway, so it doesn't bother me to pay a little extra for it.

If for some reason the phone was a demo, blacklisted, or what have you. I've seen stranger things happen.
My experiences with swappa have been pretty good, but I suppose anything can happen. Way less of that kind of thing seems to happen on swappa than eBayLaunch day delivery to me beats "some time in December delivery". Price is too low and listed too early. Should have waited until Saturday morning.
I hate swappa and eBay and PayPal but if I was going to sell a phone using them I'd want a buyer like you for sure! That was my thinking. He had to have it in hand with an IMEI, has a verification photo, and he has a lot of great feedback, so I am not terribly concerned by it. I have purchased on Swappa a number of times and have had no issues whatsoever.

I actually thank you for that. I wasn't going to start trolling Swappa until tomorrow at the earliest...you got me my phone on launch day, and for that I thank you. 🙂
I don’t know, people on swappa have a tendency to be a bit more conservative than buyers on eBay. I can’t imagine that a 256GB is going to sell for more than that, especially once swappa gets flooded with them. That was my thinking. Hell, I won't buy much of anything off of eBay.

He could have made a lot more money on it if he wanted to. I am decently happy with what I paid for it.

There should be a third party “house” that handles the money AND the phone, not releasing either until both are inspected and accounted for. Maybe a little cumbersome, but would cut fraud down.

I've seen 256gb X on Craigslist for as low as $1500. I've even seen some sold on eBay for as low as $1K. Not sure how that works as they obviously sold for a lost.Price is too low and listed too early. Should have waited until Saturday morning.
I don't mean to sound rude but: Why do you care? The seller sold at a price they found fair and the buyer purchased an item for a price they found fair. Who are you to pass judgement?I hope by posting it here I didn't make that Verizon employee any more money. I honestly didn't think anyone here would bid on it.
