The fact they're actually selling this thing without even a keyboard and mouse is beyond me. That you're already spending a minimum of €2744,28 (with edu discount) so what's another €120 for a Magic Mouse and Wireless keyboard is besides the point.

I'm fairly certain most pros have more than enough keyboards and mice to spare.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of serious video editors have keyboards custom designed for the software they use:
http://www.editorskeys.com/products/video-editing-keyboards/

This, and the fact that in terms of function (but NOT buy shape ) the MacPro is designed to be dropped into a custom, function-oriented production setup. Unbox, unreel, plug in, compute.

Windows 8.1 and Linux are the superior OSs on the Mac hw. By comparison, OS X is just a useless toy.

Proven by Linux's installed base of about 1%, mostly guys living in mom's basement, because 99% of computer users are idiots... I guess.
Seriously, I laughed out loud when I read this post.

The dude just dropped a ton of money for a computer and he's probably editing 4K video as we speak. I can overlook his shirt.

The real winner is the shirt.

That's a beautiful god damn machine. I really wanted it to be silver, but boy, it's pretty. I think unboxing videos are absolutely ridiculous, but 30 seconds of this wasn't that bad. I didn't wait for him to read the specs or talk about the seal and such.

that shirt!

forget the Mac.. where can I buy a shirt like that?

I'm glad he made the video but I hate how most unboxing videos waste time with stupid stuff like the labels, or whats on the box, or a random scrap of paper thats inside and almost no time on the item people care about.

Also completely besides the point. When you buy a machine this expensive it should come with keyboard and mouse. Period. It's incredibly cheap of Apple not include them.

I agree but also feel if you can afford a Pro you can certainly afford a keyboard and mouse.

They really wanted to, but didn't find a place to put them. Sorry, the box is full.

According to who?

I can tell you from working at Best Buy for 2 years, sometimes it was the "higher end" (all consumer crap to begin with) desktops that didn't come with keyboard and mice.

Professionals have already a mouse and keyboard with a custom layout.

but battery life is **** on Windows/Linux as the dedicated GPUs are used on MacBooks all the time.
You are in the wrong thread. We talk about the new Mac Pro desktop computer, which has no battery.

;-)

Did I just watch some random dude unbox a trash can? What am I doing with my life?

Remember, Apple was the company that first brought us a trashcan on our desktop. They are honouring that tradition.

It is also incredibly wasteful to include a keyboard and mouse that very likely won't be used.
