Has to be the best looking Mac ever. It's kind of nostalgic to see so much hoopla surrounding a Mac launch again. Takes me back to the good old days before the iStuff took over. It's going to be long 3 months if I have to wait until March to get one. I hope they have that manufacturing plant in the US working 24/7 to churn these out as fast as possible.

Nice new design and colour. Is this a sign of things to come?

How did James May get a Mac Pro?

So I, James May, chose the Sensible but powerful MacPro with is innovative sensible aesthetics and reliable pedigree.

Richard hammond turned up with a Water cooled 48 core PC with Led lighting and 12 PCI ports 256gb of Ram that requires the power of a small town.

Jeremy however, as usual went over board and Jerry rigged a turbo boosted 1988 Cray Supercomputer to run on gin and cigarettes.

on that bombshell...

Also completely besides the point. When you buy a machine this expensive it should come with keyboard and mouse. Period. It's incredibly cheap of Apple not include them.

This isn't a starter kit. That's why the iMac exists. If you are buying this then you should have more than enough serious hardware to go with it and if you don't then that's a clue you should be starting with an iMac.

Whenever myself and others I know got new hardware in the past decade the keyboard and mouse never even left the box.

If you want to argue cheapness, then as usual take a look at the base RAM level. At least this time around Apple didn't ship a Pro with a three year old off-the-shelf video card.

Ha. Look any any computer spec page from any site... they are charging for the keyboard and mouse +$20 +10 whatever... Dell, HP etc. the thing with the Mac ones they are actually good! not the POS plastic ones.

I think the cynical haters have taken over this site.

I'm utterly convinced it's an initiative by Samsung's digital ad agency. Turn sentiment south - it brushes off the luster of the Apple brand.

I'd put money on that being the case. It started with the Galaxy SIII. Look back in the threads.

Windows 8.1 and Linux are the superior OSs on the Mac hw. By comparison, OS X is just a useless toy.

Hmmm and to think many pros use OS X on a daily basis...

The Windows platform, has more Audio/Video tools for professionals, than OS X. Many video servers use Linux, not OS X...

...and so on.

Pretty sure there's more "professionals" than those who do Audio/Video.

I'm sorry, but your comments are just silly. Almost as bad as the "Google is evil" crowd around here. "Useless toy" lol get a grip on reality.

Two complaints with packaging
1)Boring brown box with no logo ? I think it should come with some really awesome design or at black coloured box like inner box
2)Specifications at bottom of box ? isn't it inconvenient ?

Brown box is the shipping container. Inner black box is the actual product box. Apple could have made a colored shipping box too but that would have been $ & environmentally reckless.

Spec on bottom of box... Why is that an issue? It's not a can of peas. These won't be stacked up on Aisle 6. In fact most will be custom configured. Everyone who is looking to buy knows the base configs beforehand.

It is certainly tiny! I don't know about looks though, I think I prefer the old design. Not really an issue however as its not really targeted at me with my MacMini...

Strange that they all seem to be British in the unboxing videos

The keys to the internet are on the peg by the door. They're yours sir. :D
That was fantastic. +1

Professionals have already a mouse and keyboard with a custom layout.

......and maybe Apple doesn't exactly make a keyboard or mouse with all the functions and set up the pros need.

Gorgeous product, not sure about glossy outer and I don't do desktops anymore.

I don't like how the plug is right in the front of the machine.

....what? Did we watch the same video?

One of a kind traditional Aloominium version? How about colors too?

Apple lost their sense of differentiation years ago.

No, some of us just don't like the crap Apple is putting out these days. So, we work for Samsung? Where's my paycheck, then? I should be getting paid apparently.

Thanks for explanation. Now it makes sense
