Nope.

I don't buy it. Not one bit. Rogen looks a better Woz than Fassbender does Jobs, and I ****ing LOVE Fassbender.

Say what you will about Kutcher's Jobs movie, but that guy at least looked halfway like Steve.

Was about to say the same thing... Casting on the other movie looked better.

If the movie is good, I don't think anyone will care that Fassbender doesn't look like Steve Jobs. Jesse Eisenberg looks nothing like Zuckerberg, yet a few minutes into the The Social Network, the audience forgot about that and got caught up in the story and enjoyed what turned out to be a very entertaining movie.

lol - no... fassbender looks nothing like jobs. eisenberg looks 90% identical to zuck. i mean, objectively, there's no comparison.

You know what? Tom Hardy didn't look like Bane. Robert DeNiro didn't look like Jake Lamotta. Marlon Brando didn't look like Vito Corleone. Christian Bale didn't look like Trevor Reznik. It's called acting. I'd rather have someone bring life to the character than cast a lame person who's a vague look-alike.

NONE of the characters you mentioned were well-known to the public at the time. The public needs a visual reference to characters they have seen.
Acting should trump that but it doesn't, especially in a case like this where the only people who will care about this movie are very familiar with Jobs.

This is hilarious.. Fassbender looks nothing like Jobs at ALL.

Stole the words out of my mouth. I actually the look of Auston K but everything else was dumb about the last movie. This movie is already a failure if you can't get the look right. Seth look correct.

At least Eisenberg can look like a geek.

That's true enough, but then again, Fassbender won't have to portray Steve as some guy during his college years. I think we can all agree that Steve's persona was quite extravagant and rather than pursuing a geeky look, Fassbender should focus on what effect Jobs' words and actions had on people and I'm hoping he can pull it off, granted that the writing is good.

----------

Eisenberg was close enough to Zuckerberg in appearance. Fassbender is nowhere similar, in any way.

Personally, I can't say it was that much of a resemblance. Sure, some basic similarities, but that's about it.
Anyway, as someone pointed out earlier, acting is a more powerful thing than just appearance. I would much rather see a movie about Steve with a good script and a performance to match, than a Kutcher-type movie, where he looked very similar to Jobs, but the overall result was pretty meh.

Fasbender is too laid back to pull of Jobs. He hasn't got that intensity that seems about to explode at any moment.

You obviously haven't seen a film called "Hunger" (directed by Steve McQueen). And check out "A Dangerous Method". And "Shame". And...oh nevermind. It's not about looking-like, it's about portraying a character. Fassbender is a great actor.

Ashton Kutcher looks 100x more like Steve Jobs, but Fassbender is 100x the actor that Kutcher is...so it should balance out. :p

Did they actually say: "Marlon Brando didn't look like Vito Corleone." Hahahahaha

Eisenberg has the same hair as Zuckerberg, the similarities end there.

I think Meryl Streep should have played Jobs. She really disappears into every role. :)

The Kutcher film was entertaining and nowhere near as bad as peeps on here would have you believe. Looking forward to this, with an open mind...

What about Leonardo DiCaprio as Howard Hughes? He looked NOTHING like Howard Hughes, even less than Fassbender looks like jobs.

Didn't effect my enjoyment of the movie, though.

if you're over the age of 6, you probably know EXACTLY what steve jobs looks like. these comparisons to actors who didn't look like [x] subject (from decades and decades ago) are entirely missing the point.
