Yes it is. Apple wants To tell everyone how they should live their lives.
Apple is telling you to try exercising your entrepreneurial muscles? I think all Americans would respect that sentiment. This country was founded by entrepreneurs, the founders were the ultimate rebels. You could say, they “thought different.”

I honestly need to go back to it, still in my up next. I watched the first two episodes and kind of lost interest. I will definitely give it another shot though now that you mention it.

FAM gets AMAZING episode 3/4. The training with women astronauts segment. Theres some stuff there that will freak you out. And what happens next is even better.

You would be wrong.

You would be wrong.
If I was wrong, I would be wrong. But, I’m not.

There might be other reasons people dont like the theme of this show, but I assume the best of other Macrumors commenters.

You mean the one that's completely optional? The one for everyone but no one in particular? The one that doesn't require your feedback? That lecture?
My sarcastic take? You took that literally? It seems you did. Of course I won't watch it, because I don't want the lecture. Plenty of other shows out there.

But I guess you either took me super literally or nobody is allowed to express an opinion you disagree with on this Apple super fan sight. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Apple didnt conceive, write or direct this series. I know it's important for you to be a victim, but Apple isnt victimizing you with this show.
So Apple isn’t responsible at all for this show? I’m not the victim here.
[automerge]1579291642[/automerge]
No, in this instance Apple is merely showing how people are actually living their lives.

They are not victimizing you. There's an ENORMOUS GULF between "presentation" and "dictation".

I wish more people would learn the difference.
Where did use the word victim? I didn’t. Showing people the lives they want to show. Image is everything to Apple. There’s always an angle. But it’s the wrong forum for that conversation.

There is no right forum for a conversation so vapid and devoid of logic.

First episode was OK, second was terrific. Great camera work. Going to take my time to watch all the episodes. Made the mistake of watching all the episodes of "Dickinson" in a hurry, over before I realized it. Stange comments, it's just entertainment, without all the stupid lousy commercials. Had enough of emus! Enjoy.

I took your sarcasm sarcastically. We all know what you mean but it would make more sense if you watched something before pronouncing judgement upon it.

Yeah, but you do need to watch a show to be able to speak about its quality. Otherwise you just come off as a nattering fool.
No, I really don't need to watch a show to know it's not for me.

I'm sure you don't really believe that, but perhaps you just wanted to be able to backdoor in calling me a fool?

Thank you!

You can decide it’s not for you, but you can’t speak to it’s quality.

Awesome, looking forward to it. I was skeptical, but Apple TV has been great. Morning Show, See, Servant, and Truth Be Told were all quality. I think it's already better than Netflix, more aligned to HBO.
I agree: the main actors lift the caliber of the shows to what sometimes can be borderline weak story lines. I cannot fault the production quality that Apple invests into their content and enjoy immersing myself in the 4K vistas of, 'See'. Knowing Aaron Paul (Truth Be Told) and Jennifer Aniston (Morning Wars) attracted myself to shows that I would normally pass on and this is the talent that kept me engaged to the final episodes. Netflix's 'Triple Frontier', 'The Irishman' and 'El Camino' are cinema grade movies. 'Narcos', 'Narcos Mexico' and 'Ozark' are engaging Netflix TV series otherwise when I have free Netflix trials I view the non Netflix produced American movies and TV shows. I wonder what interesting venture into movies  TV+ would produce? Hopefully something like, 'Star Trek: Resistance Is Futile' with Jonathan Frakes directing and in the role of an Enterprise Captain with a few others like Michael Dorn as Worf, Patrick Stewart doing a cameo as a Federation Admiral, add LeVar Burton, Brent Spiner, Robert Picado reprising their roles plus Alice Braga would make for a very capable Borg Queen actress to replace defeated 'Star Trek: Voyager' End Game episodes' Borg Queen.

Ooh, yeah you should. The second half of that series is intense, emotionally.

I haven't used this service, but saying it's better than Netflix is a BOLD statement.

Netflix content can vary, but their first party content is usually very good, they pick up fan-or-cult-favorite shows that networks neglect and give them proper endings, and the sheer variety in their selection of shows and movies is still the best.

Netflix is the best-bang-for-the-buck-out-there, in my opinion, if anything for the enormous amount of shows on it.

I cut the cord roughly 6 years ago and currently have Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and Prime, but Netflix is my go-to.

I use the other services when they become free for a month, and after binging the spoiler-danger shows (GoT, WestWorld, etc) I cancel them, with Disney+ being the exception (I'm a Sith Lord after all).

I've yet to grow interested in ANY shows from the other services that are worth cancelling Netflix for.
Nobody ever said that they are mutually exclusive. There is room for one to subscribe multiple streaming services, unlike music where the content is largely the same.

It's kinda the opposite for me, where Netflix's originals have largely been uninspiring for me (though I am looking forward to Sabrina dropping next week), but they have been importing some new asian drama serials which have me intrigued. Basically, TV+'s lineup seems to have more coherence (Apple is clearly going for compelling storytelling ala HBO), while Netflix's offerings seem more haphazard.

I never commented on the “quality.“ my exact quote was “Awesome. Can’t wait for the lecture."

so tell me what in that comments refers to quality?
How would you know it's going to be a lecture without watching it? Simply because it's telling uplifting stories about people adjusting to life in a new country? That's a lecture to you? Seeing people do well against all odds? Really? Says a lot about you.

Dude, you are all over the map.

In any event, why do you care so much about my taste in television?

Am I not allowed to have an opinion without being berated by you?

I think there is a political lecture in this show. I don't want to see it--certainly my choice.

It's pretty obvious, but I won't go in to detail about it because this is not a PRSI forum.

Stop going around and telling people they're terrible if they don't like the things you like or think they should like.

Are you part of the Morality Squad, running around and telling people they're bad if they don't like certain stories?

Jesus Christ.

I really enjoyed the new Sabrina, but it’s annoying how the creators don’t seem able to make up their mind whether the main witch cult is evil or not. Sometimes they act like they’re just misunderstood, at others times they’re all about murder, torture, ritual sacrifice. You can’t have it both ways guys! Pick a direction and commit to it!
