Yes, I'm aware of that. My point is though, everything is going to quadruple in size -- particularly graphics in games.

Not necessarily. A lot of 3D games especially already used higher resolution textures that simply got downscaled anyhow. These probably wouldn't even look better.

Apps simply using UIKit widgets probably wouldn't quadruple either since they don't have "graphics", only references to things like UIButton, UIlabel, etc...

So there's no set rule for how much more storage apps would occupy, if some even do.

Vietnamese is the EXACT OPPOSITE of a romance language..

thats one strange yet aggressive sounding language..!

I'm only talking about when developers update their apps with double resolution graphics in games, if they're already using higher resolution graphics then that'll be fine, but I don't think so -- it's a waste of space.

I really like that you can turn off LTE. I appreciate that Apple put a bigger battery to compensate for LTE, but at the same time I'd rather use 3G most of the time and have crazy long battery life, or at least the option of it.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B179 Safari/7534.48.3)

The iPad 2 box was not marked with the iCloud symbol. The box in the video clearly has the iCloud symbol on the side. That should help distinguish it from an iPad 2 box.

That is not the case. At some point they added it to the iPad 2 and iPhone 4 boxes.

Seeing as though wifi only is 10 hours and LTE is 9 hours, turning it off and going 3G only is hardly going to give you much difference or am I missing something ?

It's hard to say exactly -- it looks to be 2 times more powerful in shader bound scenarios (Egypt) and 3 in texture bound scenarios (Pro). Those results are less than twice the MP2, so they may grow as resolution increases.

Now that you point that out I see. Thanks.

2nd place isn't bad.

3rd, still in on the podium!

Yeah, you came in 4th and still feel the need to throw me some attitude? Sorry I didn't study the box like you did. You're cool and I suck

(maybe read all the responses before acting like a DB to the new guy. That will help keep you from looking like a tool ;))

Maybe the new guy should get over himself.

That's stereotype:(. Actually, Southern Vietnamese sounds a lot cuter than Northern Vietnamese. The guy in the unboxing video has 85% of Northern accent and 15% of Southern accent.

JUST A HEADS UP..

you will notice the box is the same as the IPAD2 box... except the screen image is blue..

keep that in mind..... for if your at a store and the ipad's are behind glass, you will at least know its an ipad 3...

also, if your buying off of someone, make sure to check the box for the blue screen on the ipad... and I would also open it up and fire it up to make sure its a retina screen....

I can see some scams happening soon...

Apple should of put something different on the box to differentiate from the ipad 2 box

I agree with what you said (perhaps they could have used a black box), but after seeing the "your - you're" mistake twice, I just couldn't rate it up. I'm sorry, but it's a pet peeve and is worse to me than nails on a chalkboard.

Uh ? the 11" MBA is the highest PPI screen on a Mac laptop, and it's only 135 PPI... I can definately see the pixels at normal viewing distance.

Though I agree "Retina" is dumb on a laptop. Give me more real-estate, not more sharpness.

If you want 'more real-estate', you want a larger screen along with a higher pixel-count. You can get *some* of the benefit of that larger screen just by increasing pixel density so that smaller things on the screen are still readable, but there are limits to that. Going 'retina display' means that you get the best trade-off between screen-size and the amount of stuff you can actually fit on the screen, because the readability size is then limited by your own visual acuity, rather than the size of the pixels.

Fortunately, typical laptop screens are 20-24" from their users' eyes, so you don't need quite the same pixel density to reach it. I seem to recall a recent article where someone did the math, and some of the *existing* MacBook Pro screens are about 95% 'retina' already from 24". (I think the worst one was about 75% at the same distance.) Unfortunately, I don't remember *where* I saw the article.

"Power user" is not a term that defines a user that needs "power houses". It defines a user that is very knowledgeable of the system he is using and uses the many advanced functionalities it provides. OS X being Unix, a lot of OS X power users don't require more than a 11 MBA.

Too true. Heck, a number of power users are served perfectly well by an iPad with a SSH-capable terminal app as their main system, because their primary job involves maintaining servers.
