Agreed at this point Apple has nailed it with the Apple Watch. Weird though reading someone mentioning their grandma's bra. 😂
Hahahaha! Hey, FitBit used to sell Bra clips. 🤣🤣 I can’t imagine that is accurate at counting steps (in fact, she had double the steps with FitBit). Clearly Apple Watch more accurate!

Had a few Apple Watches, but not anymore. Regardless of Apple, Google or whatever, my wrist will stay free from now on. I went the opposite... for fitness i don’t need a Dumpwatch of any company, and IF then a nice analog Watch. These smart* Gadgets are pissing me off anyway, as if Apple does nothing with your data, wake up, it’s a company.

Yes, the $400 apple watch is nice, But the Fitbit Versa 2 is $150 and holds its charge for almost a week, now this is another option with a smaller screen.

To be fair you have to compare similar priced items.
But don't forget to factor in monthly premiums and data protection/privacy. Especially with data as sensitive as health/fitness measurements.

Goddamn, 150 is a great price.

Also, we get it, everyone here loves the apple watch. It's not the only product that exists.

Anytime anyone asks me what watch they should get I always ask what's more important to them; having a smart watch or a fitness tracker? Smart watch, apple watch is the obvious answer. Fitness? I always recommend fitbit, for the more serious athletes, garmin all the way.

I really wish people here would expand their outlook a bit and understand that people's needs are different than theirs and that competition is good.

I think this company nailed it !

Intel was correct when they labeled Apple a "Lifestyle" company.

Fitbit's new product is the first new product I've seen from ANY company that takes AAPL head-on in "Lifestyle" !

I give them an A+ for this product !

A company whose business model doesn't rely on using your data to sell their product. Apple can't really do much with data they don't collect, and health data is only collected by a third party when you choose to give access.
Their business model surely rely on your data, you just can’t 100% tell how much it does, you must trust in what they claim, and i advice you to not trust any company.

You don’t know what they collect, you don’t have insight to the data they transmit, and you don’t have insight to all the data they join in the background on their databases, simply to know what you like or dislike, and calculate the chances of selling a new gadget and apps to you.

But don't forget to factor in monthly premiums and data protection/privacy. Especially with data as sensitive as health/fitness measurements.
Well.... monthly premium, (Don't forget Fitness+) is entirely optional for either device. Sleep routine, steps, and heart rate isn't a concern of mine if anyone knows.. Protection of my email address, and phone number is however. The unfortunate reality is that many, many companies experience data breaches. The big fish- Apple, Google at least have a good army of security experts who can keep attempting to keep those breaches at bay.

Still rocking with my Samsung Galaxy Fit for 1.5 years and still going strong and works with iOS. Still has 7 days battery life between charge.
You can get them now for $49 at Best Buy last time I checked.
$150 is a little pricy for Fitbit.

The battery life is pretty compelling. I've been incredibly disappointed with both my Apple Watches that both crap out around 7-8 PM every day.

I actually really miss my Fitbit. I loved the way it tracked steps as a priority and the app. Steps are just a much easier way to set a goal when you don't do a lot of intentional exercises. 1,000 more steps? I'll go around the block a couple of times. I know what that means. Apple has a lot of metrics which is good, but also it doesn't mean much. Activity minutes? Why does my 1 hour work out only register 40 minutes? I didn't ask for you judgement, watch, I just need you to keep track of what I tell you.

I'm too accustomed to having Apple Pay on me though. Still holding out hope that Fitbit will someday offer some sort of native Apple Watch compatibility with their app.

The only thing that has been keeping me from getting an Apple Watch is FitBit’s great sleep tracking. Now that Google owns them I really would like to get away from them. I just wish Apple would add native sleep tracking. Are there any good sleep tracking apps?

I also wish there was a good way to import the archive data you can download from FitBit’s website into Apple Health. Unfortunately I’ve only ever found apps that sync using FitBit’s API and that doesn’t expose all data.
The latest apple watch does native sleep tracking.. I looked once, never looked again.. But its there if you want it..

I started wearing a fitbit before the Apple Watch came out, and ever after I got the Apple Watch, I still wear my fitbit. It's one of the basic trackers that doesn't even have a screen so it's more like a bracelet than a watch. It's still a bit mystifying how each tracks steps/distance to me, as the Watch seems to count fewer steps but greater distance. Maybe when they start to sync up more closely I'll toss the Fitbit.
In the meantime, i would really LOVE some kind of Apple Watch band that you could just stick a small Fitbit tracker in so I don't need to wear two things. But I've got a very long streak going on my Fitbit and can't just get rid of it now...
