Tuesday, May 15th is the most recent date-on-the-calendar for those awaiting Apple notebook updates. Questionable rumors posted last week indicated that we would see Apple laptop updates this week, while other rumors pointed to "sooner than expected" laptop updates.

Despite varying claims, the final word we've heard is that five (consumer) MacBook models are en route, but no other details are available.

Apple presently features 3 MacBook models ranging from $1099 - $1499 and last updated the MacBook in November 2006. Our Buyer's Guide reveals that the MacBook is approaching the end of its refresh cycle.

i really think that this is going to happen

i think there will be macbook updates and the macbook slim to be introduced

there have been so many rumors in the past week for this

:apple: :apple: :)

I would guess 3 screen sizes and the top 2 models will have 2 difference processors.

No MacBook Pros until WWDC.

The new Shuffle MacBook available in five new colors.

For some reason this seams familiar.

Sounds like Apple is starting to do another "mid-90's". Remember the Performa lines? Spoilt for choice but at the expense of customer confusion.

Five

I know, seems like kind of a lot, doesn't it?

With a MacBook 'Thin' in the mix, the updates will seem complete - better graphics capabilities, (for Leopard) Santa Rosa platform, LED backlights, Flash drives, snazzy new designs..... I'm not sleeping tonight

I'm guessing

1.8ghz 13" $899
1.8ghz 15" $1099
2.0ghz 13" $1299
2.0ghz 15" $1499
Black 2.0ghz 15" with GeForce 8400M. $1699

Black $50 BTO option

New Macbook Pro please!! Macbooks were updated after Macbook Pros in November. Pro's are wayyy past due! Macbooks in 5 different colors? I think that is dumb.
