... spending 20 seconds in October did the trick for me, too.
I get that it's part of the price you pay for being a bleeding-edge adopter. (I don't really expect everything to be running icy smooth a few hours after release, when half the planet is trying to download and install.)
But I'm curious about why changing the date would make a difference. Does it outsmart a half-assed attempt to soft-launch, or gradually roll out this feature? It just seems weird that the date's even a factor in accessing the iTunes Store.
