Fortunately the issue only occurs in a limited scenario (at least so far).

Can you imagine if it turns out to be more serious and results in a massive recall of the phone? Yikes.

Being the curious son of hun that I am. I actually installed Snapchat to see if my camera would make that noise. Fortunately nothing occurred.
I’ve also tried to reproduce it, luckily it hasn’t happened. I’m going to take it easy until the update next week. I wanted to at least rule out having faulty camera hardware if that ends up being a factor later on.

I deliberately timed my order so that I'd get my iphone about 2 weeks after launch, in case of a concern like this. I'm now wavering of course. I'm concerned that the software fix will just disable a new hardware feature. I guess I'll not know until the fix is out and experts have played with it. Fingers crossed, as I'd really like the better camera hardware. If apple would explain exactly what the problem was, I'd have more faith.

I’m not sure Apple would allow an exchange when there’s been no detectable damage. But I also agree with you (and if I owned an iPhone 14 Pro) in which this issue had appeared a few times, I might be inclined to return the unit to get my money back, and then re-purchase a new unit a day later. While there may not be any detectable damage right now, maybe it’s weakened components enough that such components wear out earlier in the future?

In other words, while an exchange probably wouldn’t be possible, a return would be.

(Or am I missing something here?)
Yes they do. I just called them yesterday, explained that my camera was sometimes shaking and buzzing when using it, and he was like “yeah that’s hardware issue, we will send you a new one“. I mean, they know that you actually have a 14-day-return-window nonetheless, so they don’t even care. The rep even agreed with me that this is not acceptable at this price point 😂.

That’s what I find strange is anyone getting it all the time. What’s the issue that’s causing it
