Why make an unsupported assumption like that?
What unsupported assumption? That people are grumbling it's taking a week, or that Apple may be asking the app makers whose apps are exhibiting the issue to confirm it's fixed?

'Cos, for the first point:
So a possible hardware damaging software problem will be addressed next week? Seems like it should be a little more urgent?

A week is a long time for people to use phones and damage them potentially. Really shows how sloppy apple has become under Timeh Time to leave Tim.

Yeah, I was just thinking, if there was ever a time to push an emergency fix using the new hotfix feature in iOS 16, THIS WOULD BE IT.

Exactly! Asking the hundreds of thousands of potentially impacted customers to wait another week to use their >$1k phone is ridiculous. I haven't even had this camera issue, I've had a laundry list of other issues, though...

I think it depends how long and how many times you did it. I did it maybe 3 times for a few seconds to see if it was really the app. But some did it for minutes. That’s a bit difference

I think easier said than done. I think mine is okay on focusing but what if it it’s not as good as it should be.
https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...x-camera-test-thread-troubleshooting.2360653/ hopefully can gather some information here to see if our cameras are broken or not

Apple needs to stop tying new hardware with new OS. It makes more sense to make a flagship device run on an established software to prevent issues like this. iOS 16 has been buggy has heck. So was iOS 15, 14, 13, etc. Having a brand new phone experience nothing but bugs is very very VERY bad. iPhone 14 should be running iOS 15 not 16.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but when I open the stock camera app I can hear a constant static sound start. The sound is is coming from the camera lenses. When I close the STOCK camera app it stops.

Edit* 14 pro max 512 GB black model: A2651

Double edit* I might just be stupid, I believe it’s the microphone for the camera. Both other 13s in the house make the same noise.

I tested this on a 13 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Happens on both. I wouldn’t be concerned.

Given how much I spent on this phone I am being paranoid too.

I tested this and functionality seems normal in stock camera app, signal, whatsapp and (most importantly) filmic pro.
The only thing (but that's because I'm paranoid) is that I'm hearing a super faint electric sound (like a micro coil whine) when I put my ear right onto the camera bump.
I never had a pro iPhone, so maybe this is just a sound the phone makes (once again you really have to search for it).

If I hadn't read this news I wouldn't have noticed anything wrong with the camera, which makes me lean towards me just being paranoid.

So the ones that got the shaking thing should replace anyway because they damaged it right?
It's an emergency in the sense that it's a problem that causes hardware damage. Your typical iPhone user does not read tech news sites and will not know there's a problem. Lots of people use Snapchat and such. This is going to cause millions of support calls/visits if it's not fixed fast.
Emergency would be Pakistan underwater, Ukrainian citizens getting shelled, or people in Africa starving to death due to food supply chain issues. Apple customers consider an entry level iPad display with jello effect an international crisis up there with a megadrought. A missing USB brick is somewhere between a nuclear war and COVID.

I had this problem recording a video from the camera Friday....I went to the apple shop, seem they fixed in setting.....or maybe was something else .....omg not a good start......................

Wish they release a software fix for broken back glass or damaged components (not just for camera) :p:D
Apple installed new ram over wifi. Also with one flick of the wrist and a 1,000,000,000 Gbt wifi connection apples genius installed a new Stark Enterprises nano screen protector.
