You have road rage problems. and you are a wreckless driver.
Huezo said:Road rage? When I do things like that I'm usually relaxed and listening to classical music.
On the other hand, preventing someone from passing (even if they're going twice the speed limit) on the passing lane just because you don't approve of their speed is road rage. Its called the passing lane for a reason; you are the crappy, bitter driver.

Josh said:I've heard you can be ticketed for doing that, but I'd like to see that be attempted. I'm free to test my lights when and whever I feel like it.![]()
Yup, I've seen and done that as well. Usually if I flash my lights and the dorko driver flashes me back, I sigh and try doing the gesture... but then they just think I'm signaling that we're all nuts.Josh said:He pointed his finger up, making a large circular gesture.
Butler Trumpet said:So today I was driving from Louisville to Connersville IN (about an hour east of Indianapolis) to my parents house. And I see this pick up truck on I65 going the opposite direction flashing their head lights like crazy.
Now I have done this for a long time to be nice, but this is the first time I have seen other people do it..... what was he doing you say? Well, in about half a mile, there was a state cop, waiting for speeders.
This post, is to ask everyone to do the same that this truck and myself do every time we see a cop... wait until you get past them, then flash your lights like crazy to let people going the other way to slow down.
I was really thankful for that guy, cause I was doing about 79 or 80 (speed limit 70) and I cant afford any more tickets, cause I got 2 last year.
So thank you random truck, and lets please make this a trend.

The other great thing is I hardly see any cops on the road compared to when I lived in northern VA/DC. Thirdly I remember listening to a radio report saying that only 30% of drivers in the Dallas area actully obey traffic signs.
I have seen video cameras on a few interesections. but people still blow red lights and what not. I have done it too. Never been ticketed via cameras. I'm beginning to think no one is looking through them, or they are there for show![]()
As to the headlights thing, my mom (such an example for us all) of all people taught me to at least turn on your headlights during the day when you see a cop poised to catch the speedersI have flashed lights when I see those pesky motorcycle coppers hiding behind walls. They are few and far apart, so it makes them deadly to the habitual speeder (including myself
)

Timepass said:only one problem with you radar detector, It is worthless agaist lazer gun. Indepent test have time and time again shown that the lazer dector are worthless because by the time they go off you been clock. As for radar part for the most part they are good. But when it comes to Lazer they are only good to tell you that you have been clock and you will be seeing flashing lights in a min. (This is even the best on the market are worthless for getting anything but telling you that you been clock. The beam is just to narrow to be picked up.)
Minus I have seen Texas State troops getting pretty good at hiding. That is they will set there gun at low power and then hide on the other side of a hill. That effect cuts the range of the dector down to almost nouthing. I get a lv 1 warning going off every now and then with in the .5 miles. And it will max out at 3 out of 5 and that is when I am the car being clocked. and Really close to the cop. They turn them off when no cars are clearing the hill on when the cars come over. Quite a good way to nail the speeders. At least that what I see on I-20, TX-84 and 284 and some on I-45 but I also spot lazer dector being use by protal cars as well.
Just a word of warning to you. Dont think because you have a radar decetor you are able to speed. It helps cover you rear but if the cop is using a lazer (most biker cops) you are SOL because by the time you dector warns you, you are clocked.
Just though I warn you as a fellow Texas driver.
Has anyone had this problem: There are many major highways that go over other roads. So there is always that small section under the bipass where you get stuck at a red light. I've seen it happen 4 times in the last 2 years here in texas. In that small section you get stuck waiting for the red light. So the cop sits on the other side of the median waiting for you to get stuck, and then checks your registration and inspection stickers so they are not out dated.... So So cheap isn't it? I understand it but man you feel so powerless to big brother...
poppe said:Come to texas if you want bad driving. Seriously the way huezo drives is exactly how Texas drives are. Especially the parents. All teenagers drive like wreckless maniacs. Well most in some way or another, but here in Texas if you aren't passing on the sholder, tailgating or driving with your brights on... well then I recken' you just ain't a Texan.
For example: It was this past mid may. I was driving to the grocery store when I came upon a school zone. 25 mph... Suddenly I'm almost run off the road by a GMC Yukon lifted. Who was it? Well from the quick glimpse I got she was mid 30's and blonde as can be. I'm assuming she was going around 40-45 mbp since most people were going around 30 and she was flying buy.
As for the headlight flashing for cops. I do when I see people just cruzing over the speed limit a little. If I see some small d*** in his F250 to compensate for not being a real cowboy then I let him get caught like the little d*** deserves.
On another note. Here in Texas I ask the question: Why do you need an f250 or an excursion?
The answer is always: Because I want to feel/be safe.
If you stop on by the weird thing you'll find is the ones driving horrible and making the roads unsafe are irronically the SUV/Pick Up drivers that have no reason for them.
(Please take note I think Trucks are great when needed like my father who is a farmer. All SUV/Truck mentions above are in regards to the texans living in the city, working in the city, and who in fact have never seen dirt on their car or infact seen a farm besides the National Geographic.
Shamus said:My parents flash the lights, and its always good to be warned by others. I think the speeding system is ridiculous anyway. It think in Australia we have a 3 km/h limit to how far over you can go. Now come on, most cars speedo's are out by 5 or so. I like New Zealands idea. I think their limit is something like 8km.
KingYaba said:HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA that is SO true!!! Oh man I didn't notice that post before. Dude I second that post 100%. I drive an Expedition and have got rearended. Thankfully I only had bumper damage while the dude behind me totalled his truck. He slammed me after I hit the breaks fast cuz this old lady in front can't drive. He said he was going like 35 and didn't slow down when he hit me. I in turn rear-ended the lady in front. FUnny thing she jumps out yelling at me. I just waved and pointed behind me. Friggin SUV is a tank! (for the record, I walk to work and hardly drive it)
