3 2 1 and pulled. Why couldn't it be a little secret that only real avid tethering fans could known about and not publicly mentioned in various Apple rumor sites?

Gah! I think they took it out! Cant find it on my iPad!

edit:* got it :D :D

It does NOT show up when searching for Handy Light in the app store.

To find it, search for the developers name NICK LEE and it will be in the list! Just bought it.

Marketing Ploy????

Has anyone confirmed it works? Maybe this is just a marketing ploy by the developer to sell his app??

Works a treat for me!

Love the "cheat" to get the purple colour and it works. Brilliant!

I lost my netshare because i didn't sync the app to iTunes fast enough (had an unfortunate restore issue when i upgraded the firmware).

Glad to finally have a working one of these in iPhone 4 now :)

Get it while its hot!

This is a cute hack demo, which will soon be pulled, but it does illustrate the danger of downloading apps disguised as something else. How long before someone starts putting in notifications that demand you re-enter your Apple iTunes credit card info (which they then send out), or track your location, or chat clients that log your messages and scan for information, or whatever?

I've already bought it.
Yeah got this one in the bag
Got it!!!!
I missed Netshare the first time. Figured I'd wait a day before buying it. I've regretted it for 2 years...
same here.

i also missed out on Netshare when it was $9. i didn't have an iPhone3G at the time, so i thought there would be an alternative in the future. obviously no tethering app ever appeared again, and apparently netshare still works with iOS4.

IT WORKS! I am using it right now. It is also pretty easy to set up. Just watch the video and you will get it configured in less than 30 seconds.

Assuming I don't do excessive stuff - just light web browsing, is there any way that my carrier (Orange) can tell I'm tethering?

maybe Apple will use their "Remote Kill Switch"....

hmmmmm?

I'm pretty sure they will. If Apple doesn't care, AT&T will probably demand it.

What I'm worried about is cheats like this slowing down the app approval process dramatically.

Make sure when you look for it, use two words Handy Light. That's how I found it. Not sure for how much longer it'll be in the store though. Have yet to try it. The way to do that is super complicated, but I'm excited to try it when I get home :D

Nope, and If they do say something all you have to say is "What? I like watching YouTube videos..."

Definitely works.

For the technically adept, the instructions are overly complex. The short story is, tap blue->yellow->red->right corner, and the screen turns purple and a SOCKS proxy starts on port 1337. You don't need a 13.37.13.37 IP scheme.
