Let's say my friend will send me his signed ipa file, and he's willing to share his itunes username/password with me, what would i need to do to load the ipa file on my iphone ?

That's all. You just need to authorize your computer on his iTunes account, and you can install the ipa file like you would any other app.

Drag the app into your iTunes library, go to iPhone Settings/Store/Sign Out then Sign In with your buddy's credentials and sync.

Good luck!

I know this is a complete shot in the dark, but is there anyone out there willing to do this for me?

I know it's asking a lot to trust me with your iTunes info, but I just really wanted a tethering app without jailbreaking for a long time. Ever since I missed netshare I've been waiting for something like this, and when it finally comes along, it's the one night I don't check macrumors or any tech site. I swear I'll just sync the app and sign out immediately. You can change your iTunes password and everything.

Like I said, I know this is a long shot but what the hell, I got nothing to lose by asking.

How much do they help with that though? In Aus, we have 5 major carriers on 4 networks and I think only 1 of them actually has visual voicemail. I know plenty of EU countries don't have VV either...

Regarding visual voice Mali, could part of the issue why its not on all devices be related to patents, and not technical in nature?

Where does it say he HAS to ride the train? I live in an urban area...and the vast majority of the time bus and train options are much faster than taking my car with all the gridlock. Less stress/road rage and I can perform other tasks while on the way to work or home.

I can wack off while driving, so I can multitask as well

There is another

There is another app with this.. search for iRip and download. then play the 5th fart sound and do the same process.

He's 15, so give it 3-5 years maybe?

The Computer Crimes Act of 1988 has provisions for minors to be convicted of "crimes of software acting in a fraudulent matter" to paraphrase a friend of mine. He better grow up quick and be happy he just had his app pulled off the store. He could be seeing time in juvenile hall for this.

Well... perhaps we should allow the kid to hit puberty before we tell him to grow up.

What he did may be "wrong" but he's just a kid, and I'm sure this stunt will pay off for him in the long run. Damn clever kid if you ask me- he will probably go on to code some cool stuff in the future.

Either that or die of an overdoes in a rave while hacking a transaction server. Had way too many friends end up like that. The success stories are over published exception to the rule.

Finally got my MacBook Pro!

Posting this via tethering and these are the speeds I get with AT&T 3G on my MacBook Pro.

well thats really good . buying an application Handy light in just 0.99 cents.
amazing.
but apple should consider that people trust them for their responses if they keep doing this launching an application and pulling out from stores that will be not a good thing for there own rep.

Wait! This might not be a wireless 3G modem app, but I just looked in the App Store an hour ago and I found an app called HandyLight+. I have some kinda feeling that this is another "easter egg" app because how can a flashlight app have a size of 1.3 MB? It's only visible functions are RGB sliders!

The only posted review makes me laugh

Save a white image onto your ipod, and open it when you need light.

Um... you know that people didn't buy the app because of its designer colors right?

My network location saves, but the actual network doesn't. I have to create a new network everytime. How do I avoid that?

Does anyone know how to save the ad-hoc connection under network preferences? It IS a pain to create a new network every time. Would adding a new interface and service on the left hand side of Network Preferences do the trick?

I bought this app when it was in the store, but can't get it to sync to my 3.12 iPhone 3G. I put the checkmark on he app, place it on an empty page and sync, once the sync is done, the checkmark is gone, and the app isn't on my iPhone. I bought this like everyone else on the first day, but didn't try to sync till today. Any thoughts?

This is really scary! Is it possible that apple is shutting it down

Quick Question: Im sure it might have been answered but I have looked through alot of pages and didnt see it.

I downloaded HandyLight from my phone when was in the app store, but being an idiot, I never synced it to my MBP. Its too late to sync my phone without losing it, right? I can probably manage for a good while without syncing, but as much as I hate how iOS 4 bogs down my 3G, it will be hard not to update if/when Apple does something about it. Is there any way at all to get HandyLight into my iTunes at this point? Like I said, it is already on my phone.

I saw a few people mention putting the .ipa file in their iTunes, but I dont know of anyone who has HandyLight in their iTunes, so I dont think I can go that route. Unless someone wants to trust me with their iTunes account....

Thanks for any replies, most of y'all are a lot less of a noob when it comes to things like this.

YOu are fine, just sync it, it will copied it to your computer, I got the app from my iPhone and sync it last Friday for the first time since i got it (way after the app was pulled form the app store)

I also made a copy of the app and saved on my external HD just in case in the future. YOu just have to watch if any update is ever release, not to update that app (I doubt it, I haven't check but I am guessing that developer licenses was revoke and I am pretty sure we won;t be able to submit any more app, I could be mistaken)
