Only for 13 inch not for 15inch.There’s a repair program in place.

Yikes, what an embarrassing thing to say.A win for Apple 😎
I think its good. I'm sick of frivolous lawsuits. It's already stated that Apple had a repair program for this and took care of those affected.
Not really. Different aspects of a product fail all the time and they won’t trigger that recall unless it was a common enough issue that everyone was coming for repairs just on that part like this backlight issue or the butterfly keyboards. That effectively increases the warranty period. You can bet that Apple would make up for that with even higher prices.
They have a namesake repair program only for the 2016 13” ones, flexgate is happening atleast on the 2016 -2017 13” and 15” models. It’s definitely not anywhere close to good for a 2016 or a 2017 15” owner who’d paid 4500$ only for it to get bricked in 2 years.I think its good. I'm sick of frivolous lawsuits. It's already stated that Apple had a repair program for this and took care of those affected.
$4500?? Yeah right. The 13" models were affected. Where did you get that outrageous price? If it's not a U.S-based price you need to say so because that price makes no sense.Would you feel that way if you bought a 2016-2017 $4,500 MacBook Pro?
Dell, Microsoft, HP, Lenovo and Razer make computers with "low quality build". Often the Windows laptops have plastic pieces that break off easily and screen hinges that break easily. Once the warranty runs out they are not obligated to continue to fix defects from "low quality build". Low quality build that lasts past the warranty is not legally actionable. What is wrong with this judge its clear the computer has a low quality build
It’s a factual statement. Why would that be embarrassing?Yikes, what an embarrassing thing to say.
article said 13 and 15 inch, 15inch specced out can go up that much if not higher. in europe the VAT and tax makes it even higher.$4500?? Yeah right. The 13" models were affected. because people expect everything handed to them.I own one. Use it every day. Keyboard is crap.
And I, too, think this is a win for apple. Not sure how you can say it’s not.
do you not own any apple products? apple return window is 14 days, this problem doesn't arise until 1 year plus later.I wouldn’t but im sure Apple will do everything it can to make it right. If you don’t like it you can always return it
Speccing out a machine is the choice of the consumer. That's the not the initial price of the machine. Furthermore Apple's 4 year repair program does not include the 15". VAT is not something to fault a company over. That fault lies on the country in question that creates the VAT.article said 13 and 15 inch, 15inch specced out can go up that much if not higher. in europe the VAT and tax makes it even higher.
My Apple stock went up.And a loss for the consumer. Why would you cheer this?
Thats what I love about Australian Consumer law. It wouldn't pass the sniff test & even without Applecare, Apple would be required to replace or fix,..no questions asked! If you are buying in good faith, then it should just work. Simple.Long time ago, I can purchase Apple products without Apple Care. My 2007 MacBook Pro 17 inch still runs fine today. Now AppleCare is essential to make sure they will last more than a years.
Nah, I’m pretty sure someone just bought a new M1 laptop and are, at this moment, talking with their lawyer to start a class action lawsuit based on the fact that the new systems no longer keeps their lap warm. As a result, they had to get an electric blanket, the blanket was faulty and burned their lap. Since they wouldn’t have the blanket if the Mac wasn’t cold during use, it’s obviously Apple’s fault.these kinds of lawsuits will be a thing of the past.
If companies are rquired to offer repairs afdter warranty for free they will simply estimate the repair costs and add them to the price of all machines to cover the anticipated costs; just as is done for what the estimated costs will be for warranty repairs. If you compare the price of a MBP in the EU vs the US, ex VAT, where are they cheaper?Where I live it would not pass. Goods are required by law to last a "reasonable" amount of time, even if that means longer than warranty.
What would a "reasonable" amount of time be? 1 year? 5 years?Where I live it would not pass. Goods are required by law to last a "reasonable" amount of time, even if that means longer than warranty.
