FlightAware Offers Tool For Tracking iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Pre-Order Shipment Flights

too bad mine is not on one of those flights :(

I will have to wait until Oct 21 - Oct 28 (Thanks AT&T for not having any white 6+ at 3:05am and thanks Apple for screwing up the pre-order at 3am EST ... didnt wanna be up all night hitting refresh)

But guess what: I will survive and I will be happy once I get it

I am just trying to avoid all the colleagues that get their iPhone 6 on launch day for one month, and if I meet them and they have to show off, I will make fun about how small it is.

You must be new here. Flight tracking your shipment is an iPhone Day Eve tradition here. It's like tracking santa on x-mas! Anyway, it's all public info and the tracking isn't actually real-time for security reasons.

You're right, I am new here. I never said anything about security though. But I am new, clearly.

It's like Santa being tracked by NORAD

It's like the entire world is a ten year old on Christmas Eve, looking at Santa's sleigh. If these were Google phones, we'd want freaking pictures of phones being delivered on StreetView.

I'd say this is kind of a new low of MacRumors "news".
I'm a fan, not a psycho stalker. Color me weird for seeing this as something that is just unnecessary to "report" on.

What ? Flight tracker even has a link to MacRumors.

:D

just got my tracking # at 4 AM this morn eastern. was getting worried since it was cutting it close to the 9/19 delivery!! Also have scheduled a pickup at UPS at 8 AM. The hope is that the line at UPS will be shorter than apple store.

Somebody needs to put together a website that explains how we can sneak onto these planes so that we can be with our iPhones from birth until they arrive at home. I'm disappointed that the MacRumors staff have not already done this and as a result I will no longer visiting this site ever again. ;)

Do all of you have tracking info that says its from China? Mine says it started in Nashville. I must have gotten the Honky Tonk version??

One 6 Plus was already in TN when I found my tracking via reference number. The second 6 Plus is coming from China directly. I guess it just depends what batch it came from as they must have already had some shipments stateside.

Lol the tracking from MacRumor's post is exactly the same as mine, see the attachment:

To supplement this, here are the LiveATC feeds for the various destinations used by the link to FlightAware in the OP.

The link in the OP shows mainly UPS flights, so here is where they should be going for processing.

PANC/ANC: Anchorage, AK:
http://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=panc

Clearance Delivery, Ground, Tower, Approach, and Departure frequencies available.

KSDF/SDF: Louisville, KY: (main hub)
http://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=ksdf

Ground, Tower, and Approach are listed here.

KONT/ONT: Ontario, CA: (west coast hub)
http://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=kont

Tower, Approach, and Departure available.

KPHL/PHL: Philadelphia, PA: (east coast hub)
http://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=kphl

Clearance Delivery, Company Ramp, Ground, Tower, Approach, and Departure available.

this way, you could listen in on when the plane your phone may be on is departing or arriving. Like FlightAware, this is also in real time.

BL.

So it's like the NORAD Santa Claus tracker, for grown ups?

New toys are fun to anticipate. If I had one en route I would be checking frequently.

I loved it when Apple Discussions had prerelease forums for new things. the posts were the best. As an adult it was as close as you get to waiting for Santa :)

Guys, FedEx leaked the dimensions and weight of the the iPhone 6 package.
9x6x4 in.
2 lbs / 0.91 kgs

My iphone 6+ 128GB Space Grey just arrived at Fedex Facility in NJ and i live in NY :eek: I wonder if i can drive there and pick it up right now...:D:D:apple:

Since Foxconn needs people, why not offer jobs to iPhone buyers and the nuts who cannot wait until there is plenty of supply can make their own iPhone in the factory and take it home.
I bet there would be plenty of takers and Apple could charge them extra for this
"opportunity" to beat the crowd.

Come to think of it they could make phones for their friends to share the extra cost.

I've gotten a release day iPhone since 2008 (excepting the 5S), and I've always enjoyed the tracking, obsessive checking of order statuses, geeked up* posts. It's part of the fun of being in a forum like this. When I have preordered for pickup, there's the same sense of shared excitement in the long lines.

if it's not for you, scroll on by.

*see what I did there? :D

ETA: my phone is still in Kentucky. Boo.

Look on the bright side, this is one time when the stalker won't hurt kill or scratch their target.
