It's been working better for me since the 2.1 update. Rocked all night in my friends garage to some 80's punk rock. Didn't skip a beat and it was running on 3g the whole time. I like it.

Go under settings & turn quickplay OFF.
Hi everyone.
Can someone that has previously been unable to have background play work and then got it to work let me know if you found some step beyond just turning quickplay off that helped you do so?
I have quickplay off, I switched it while playing a station and waited after it stopped the stream then restarted the stream from a favorite link.
Everytime I push the home button on my iPhone 3g the app stops.
I've tried a few different combinations of battery save and auto restart but I'm not sure that has anything to do with it.
Anything that I'm obviously missing?
I have jailbroken 2.1 fw, anyone have background play working with that?
thanks

I would like to try it, but after the connection test, which it passes, it just says 'Loading...' for ever. It never gets to any music.

Oh I get it now, on the background play thing.
I was trying to get a shoutcast stream to play in the background. But when you choose a station from their "guide" instead then it will open the stream in quicktime which will play in the background. (If you have "quickplay" off)
I guess the stations in the guides are streaming from their site and others are not, something like that.
Hope this helps someone.

I want to listen to Dr Laura lol, anyone know which channel that might be featured on?

EDIT: I had to click on the link in this article while in mobile safari to bring up the app

Check http://radiotime.com to find out who plays Dr. Laura's show and when. Then figure out which player carries that station. AOL Radio carries the whole CBS Radio lineup with lots of talk stations, chances are they'll have it.

it's just another medium to get music/talk. i'm not a fan of aol radio, so like this better

AOL Radio has been a lot better since they started working with CBS in the spring. They have satellite/HD2-style stations as well as the entire CBS Radio lineup. I always find something I like.

as you can see, i am new to all this... does anyone know of a Iphone app that streams German radio stations? I am in the US and orig. from Germany,
thought it would be fun listing to some "home radio"...

Try searching for "Deutsch" and/or "German" in the shoutcast box on the search page of flycast. or at Shoutcast.com on your pc to see what's out there.
Or if you know of a stations name in Germany you might try that too.

For the life of me I can't get the app to work.

It says connecting then eventually times out. Possibly there is a server problem. Is anyone else getting it to work?

This app could be one of the best ones out there.
