This product isn't for me, but I understand Apple's interest in entering the high-end foldable market, where devices command premium prices. Apple likely won't brand it as an iPhone, instead positioning it as a hybrid of an iPhone and a compact iPad. They should avoid "book" to prevent confusion with e-readers. A name like "Apple Fold" fits, emphasizing its unique form factor, as "iPhone Fold" sounds clunky. They may give it its own category, making room for larger models down the line, like an Apple Fold Ultra.Look, we don’t need the usual “who even wants a foldable?” takes. Congrats you’re not into it. But some of us are actually pumped to see Apple finally try something different with the iPhone. Novel concept right? It’s not for everyone and that’s fine but spare us the dramatic eye rolls while we enjoy something that isn’t just the same rectangle for the 17th year in a row.
I assume they will bring back the simplified split-screen from iPadOS and a bigger dock at the minimum.I wonder how it'll work, an iPhone that folds out to an iPad mini, or just a bigger iPhone?
You've hard about smartphones, introducing something entirely new, a display that, wait for it, unfolds.Apple is getting ready to invent the foldable phone!
An iPad already is just a bigger iPhone?

I am surprised the number of foldable phones people are using in international business class seating.
Completely agree! I’m not sure I’m the target customer for this but I’m excited to see what they come out with. And I may end up wanting one!Look, we don’t need the usual “who even wants a foldable?” takes. Congrats you’re not into it. Would be much better than Samsung's first foldable phone.I actually like the foldable models from the other brands, but I’m not sure I’d trust Apple’s first-generation attempt. 🤔
I do not miss it at all.I want to one hand snap close flip phones again. Better times
I always see the crease from the plastic screen on the extremely rare occasion that I see someone have one.Wether I use one or not, I welcome the foldable iPhone and hope it lives up to the standard and becomes a really nice product in the lineup. Everyone I know who uses a Samsung Fold (not flip) love them.
I miss people not staring at their phones all dayI do not miss it at all.
I can’t say I’m too interested in a foldable phone so far.
I don’t see the allure of a foldable iPhone as well.
