Perfect! Make it the same size as the 13 Mini, give it a front facing screen and then when you unfold it have it mimic the front screen but double the size so I can read it. I don't mind if there's a display bar across the top of the internal screen that says " Happy now Grandad? " I can take it.

Eagerly waiting to see the foldable from Apple. The device should definitely have a 48MP main camera if it is not going to have a zoom lens as then it can be used for crop zoom. Disappointing though when the Samsung Fold has a zoom lens today.

I can see space for the camera being one of the biggest hurdles. The thing is already going to be massively thick because it is two phones in one. So those two pieces need to be as thin as you can possibly make them. So maybe that means all the electronics in one side and the battery in the other? But the weight can't be lopsided. So will it have 2 smaller batteries?

Now add a camera bump and millimeters may not be the most appropriate base unit of measure!

It's been a decade in the coming because if you give a crap about build quality and user experience there are some really big engineering problems to solve.

I’m actually really excited to see what Apple pulls off. If this is done right it could be big! I might not be in the market for one but I’ve considered buying and iPad Mini in the future. So maybe this could be the perfect replacement for both and iPhone and iPad.
It will certainly take away some iPad mini sales. This is one reason I don't see it branded as iPhone.

Not sure what is most uninteresting. A foldable iPhone or the Vision Pro.
At their actual price points, both are tied at zero interest.

If they were priced as consumer products, maybe the Vision Pro wins slightly just for being a completely new type of product that might be fun for a few minutes until the novelty wears off.

What’s the foldable market? 1%?
Difficult to answer before establishing the 1% of what.

Global smartphones market?
USA smartphones market?
Global portable computing market (a vague category which contains phones, tablets, laptops)?
And even if it was 1% of the phone market now, it doesn't mean that it couldn't expand the share in the coming years.
It could erode some of the tablets market, for those who want a small tablet and don't need a full-size powerful one, and don't want to carry around 2 devices (it could kill the iPad mini)

For almost 8 inch screen, ipados would be better for this device than ios. Also, pen must be supported. It is basically a ipad mini phone. By the way, ipados 26 added a phone app in a timely fashion.
