The 5-something inches outer display and the inner almost-8 one doesn’t add up, again.
Take two of the smaller screen and put the one next to the other. No matter the ratio, it won’t reach 7.7 inches diagonally.

No, it won’t be an iPad (mini) killer.
Not until it’ll be competitive in price.

Not something I could see myself buying, since I prefer a phone and tablet separate, but the under screen camera seems intriguing.

Sounds pretty boring to me. Not sure why a folding iPhone would be interesting at all for 99.999999% of people out there.
I’ll just give you my use-case; others will have theirs: I’m an attorney who frequently needs to open e-mailed documents. This is near-useless on a phone, as I have to go through lots of contortions to read the document itself. On this phone, I could do it.

Beyond that, I sometimes open photos and would love to see bigger versions without having to carry an iPad. Same thing for videos and books.

Those are just a few things that have me excited for this device.

Bezels are a thing, particularly on the outside of a clamshell device.

So the iPad mini killer?
It sure about that. $500 compared to say $1500+. The only thing that is going to kill the iPad mini is how apple advertises it. Then again, apple doesn’t really show the barious ways their devices could be used

Another comparison, the outer 5.49” screen against the 6.9” Pro Max screen.

It does roughly match up, see below. The inner screen has a bit of extra space at the crease.

As an iPad Mini user who likes the idea of combining my iPhone and iPad Mini, I definitely like that the inner screen may be less square and more rectangular. Most of the current book style foldables have nearly square inner screens which isn't great for most content I'd use a tablet for.

Although that rumored price which could go higher at release may price me out though.

But when you combine the prices of both devices, it is already close if not over $2k depending on the options you choose.
I see your point, although many people buy previous generation iPhones, or the SE/16e, which are closer to $600-700.

according to grok it said this, "QHD, or Quad HD, typically refers to a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Your display at 2,713 x 1,920 has a higher resolution than QHD, with more pixels in both width and height. You can play QHD video on this display without any issues. Since your display’s resolution exceeds QHD, QHD content will either be displayed natively (with black bars or stretching, depending on the player) or upscaled slightly to fill the screen, maintaining excellent quality."

This phone isn't targeted at us peasants. Apple is after the filthy rich--and plebs with misguided sense of priorities--with this phone. When I see an ad for ultra luxurious items, the ads makes zero sense to me. Apparently, it makes sense to rich people though.

Don't poo-poo the foldable iPhone just because it's not the device for you. Frankly I think it's an odd duck myself. Just goes to show I'm not the target demographic.
