with the hinge structure and display durability testing remaining the principal bottlenecks.
Wait for the second generation and leave this one to the usual YouTube blokes.
Ive bought all the first gens you listed and NEVER had an issue with any first gen apple product I have purchased. As someone who bought the first iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, do not buy this device.
wait for the next or 3rd gen, Apple ALWAYS has stinker of a first gen.
I just bought an iPad for taking notes, which I can’t do on my iPhone. A folding phone wouldn’t solve any problem I currently have, since it’s too small to take notes imo.I understand that there are some people who genuinely will find a foldable phone useful, as well as some people who have discretionary income and like to buy new products for the enjoyment of owning something novel, but with the inherent crease and durability issues, it seems to me to be a "me too" item from Apple. But I also underestimated the popularity of iPad, too.
“We think you’re going to love it…as long as you don’t fold it wrong.”I wonder what the scandal will be with this one. Hinge-gate?
For sure not starting from square one.Agreed. It makes no sense to think that Apple is starting from square one here. Far from it.
The Fold 2 and 3 are most likely well into late development. Apple has done this for years. Make the 1st Gen as crappy as possible so everyone flocks to the sequel. One can only hope Apple's 1st-gen realizes the learnings of Samsung's multiple gens.
A capacitive stylus will work on ALL touchscreen phones.I just bought an iPad for taking notes, which I can’t do on my iPhone. A folding phone wouldn’t solve any problem I currently have, since it’s too small to take notes imo.
I am of two mindsets about the Apple phone. One: they don't want to repeat their competition's failures. Two: They need a reason to sell the next-gen. (Though this can/should be achieved by their usual processor+camera upgrades, battery life, etc.)The Fold 2 and 3 are most likely well into late development. Apple has done this for years. Make the 1st Gen as crappy as possible so everyone flocks to the sequel.
It’s a StRaTeGy to refine and perfect. It’s what Apple does. It’s intentional.Foldables have been around for many years and Apple is still facing production hurdles on their 1st generation one. The mismanagement at Apple continues. I would wait until the 5th generation at this point.
Early adopters are “learnings for lemmings”.One can only hope Apple's 1st-gen realizes the learnings of Samsung's multiple gens.
