This thing is going to look great sitting in an Apple designed mount in my Apple Car!

This "folding" Apple (i)Phone is still very much vaporware. So until one is held up sale for the world to see it does not exist. Hopefully it has better luck than the ill fated Apple car that cost Apple billions with nothing to show for it.

Every other smartphone maker has been cranking out foldables for several years now but Apple faces production hurdles. I find it hard to believe that Foxconn is having such a hard time with yet another foldable.

Foldables have been around for many years and Apple is still facing production hurdles on their 1st generation one. The mismanagement at Apple continues. I would wait until the 5th generation at this point.

Wait for the second generation and leave this one to the usual YouTube blokes.

You mean the ones who buy every color of a Neo to just return them later? For the content bro!

But you're 100% correct! I'm on the every other year cycle so I never have a new form factor (been this way since the 4S), usually by then the kinks are worked out.

Wonder how many "gates" will hit these forums after the phone's release?

How often do people get the time during the day to sit around and play with a foldable? By the time you get home, you can just use your iPad or Mac instead of a cramped foldable screen.

I do not understand how at this point they cant seem to nail down if this will be delayed or not. The rumors flip flop every few days.

I am SO hopeful it will launch with the 18 Pro's. I am on 1UP and always get a new one annually and the foldable has been what I have waited for ever since Samsung started doing them. I cant wait personally!!

As someone who bought the first iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, do not buy this device.

wait for the next or 3rd gen, Apple ALWAYS has stinker of a first gen.
Ive bought all the first gens you listed and NEVER had an issue with any first gen apple product I have purchased.

Im actually leaning towards skipping the fold and ill tell you why. While ive been looking forward to a foldable iphone for years now, their is just too many compromises with it. Lack of a telephoto camera, magsafe, faceid, over 2K price, no penic support for it when unfolded.... and this occured to me...i live on long island and go to the beach frequently. Mr Mobile did a video on the samsung folds coming out and he said he took his to the beach once, and got sand under his screen and it grinds now...

Im not paying 2000 dollars for a phone i cant even use to take pictures at the beach.

Unless apple fixes that issue with a very high dust and water resistance, that phone is useless to me

Im thinking sit this one out until they fix that issue the next generation down the road.

Is it too late to back out now? I would’ve thought they had ironed out any kinks by now.

Gives me vision pro warning bells all over again.

I understand that there are some people who genuinely will find a foldable phone useful, as well as some people who have discretionary income and like to buy new products for the enjoyment of owning something novel, but with the inherent crease and durability issues, it seems to me to be a "me too" item from Apple. But I also underestimated the popularity of iPad, too.
I just bought an iPad for taking notes, which I can’t do on my iPhone. A folding phone wouldn’t solve any problem I currently have, since it’s too small to take notes imo.

I wonder whom this misinformation is benefiting?

Probably the ones that started the rumor. I guess Samsung did not sell as many folds as they thought they would.

And are now in panic mode, that Apple will take their cake. 🎂 😂
