I don’t particularly believe it’s going to be more advanced or more durable than Samsung’s foldables recently announced or other foldables currently available. Although I use and appreciate Apple products, 50% of new product releases is mere hype. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a delay; however, it is surprising Apple ordered 10 million units.

I wonder whom this misinformation is benefiting?

Probably the ones that started the rumor. I guess Samsung did not sell as many folds as they thought they would.

And are now in panic mode, that Apple will take their cake. 🎂 😂
Consideting yesterday they unvieled thier 3 new folds, that thought is incorrect lol. One is the same as the new iphone ultra form factor and size

This "folding" Apple (i)Phone is still very much vaporware. So until one is held up sale for the world to see it does not exist. Hopefully it has better luck than the ill fated Apple car that cost Apple billions with nothing to show for it.
So it's like Schrodinger's cat in a box--until we open the box, we don't know if it's dead or alive?

Every other smartphone maker has been cranking out foldables for several years now but Apple faces production hurdles. I find it hard to believe that Foxconn is having such a hard time with yet another foldable.
Foxconn might be dealing with how to reliably implement, on the production line, the higher standards, tolerances, etc. required by Apple for the iPhone Ultra than even they're used to.

The Fold 2 and 3 are most likely well into late development. Apple has done this for years. Make the 1st Gen as crappy as possible so everyone flocks to the sequel.
On the other hand, what kind of advertising would a crappy first gen model be, for the next generation? A lousy first gen seems more likely to scare off possible future generation purchasers based on word of mouth, and skepticism that issues would be fixed in the second gen. A pretty good, if feature-limited, first gen might be a much better stimulus for people on the fence to buy the second gen, especially if Apple includes one or more major feature upgrades over the first gen.

Given that the iPhone Ultra will be a sort of new category for Apple that they're hoping to succeed in, my guess is they're throwing everything they can into the first gen (which may be responsible for some of the delays) to make it as good as it can be today, to generate good reviews to encourage purchases of the following generations. The reliability and viability of the first gen will be subject to a lot of analysis by Apple so that they can include a number engineering and feature changes in the gen 2 and later, rather than locking in their designs before the first gen has been released and had a chance to prove itself.

Yet Samsung seem to never have these types of "delays". Every year we get these reports, as if someone is releasing information on a need to know basis. This is a far cry from the Steve Jobs era.

Another iPhone fold DOA report idk who gonna get this it's just like iPhone Air experiment same way with double price iPhone Air
Cannot wait to pre order me, would of had a Samsung Fold but in the Apple Ecosystem plus Apple honor warranties with any claims and with Apple Care not really any downside. Reason the Air didn't sell as well is because of the one camera Rumored "Air 2" is suspected to have two lenses like the Fold which I am sure will sell but this Fold will sell out at launch until the original Air.

Ive bought all the first gens you listed and NEVER had an issue with any first gen apple product I have purchased.

You have a short memory then.

iPhone had no 3G and was completely redesigned with iPhone 2nd gen
iPad had no cameras and a was a fat slab that was redesigned and replaced with 2nd gen
Apple Watch was slow, laggy and useless then replaced 10 months later with series 1

take the apple tinted shades off bro.
