Imagine being this confidently disappointed in a phone that hasn’t even been announced yet. 😂 Brother, you didn’t review a product. You got mad at a rumor and started arguing with imaginary appliances.

I think this device will be awesome, I just do not like that name (if it is what they name it). If the only way it is superior to a Pro is because the screen folds yet the Pro is more advanced in every other way (other than maybe the chip) then it is not very "Ultra".

I will. It was incredibly convenient to buy a new phone (Samsung A25), pop the SIM from my iPhone SE (2020) and then drop it in the new phone. It was working immediately, no calls or visits to Verizon needed.
The only apple product that I would have that folds is the money it would take to buy it. I would fold it, and place it back in my pocket.
I do! I used to be able to get a new phone and trade the SIM card, now you have to make a call to verizon and pay $$ for it.
I’d be worried I’d accidentally hit it when I need to be quiet.

You can go into accessibility settings and make it so the flashlight turns on the phone if you tap the back of the phone twice.

Great thinking, sir. Buuuuuut…I tried that method before (I believe it was to open the cam before the 16 series brought the awesome standalone camera button)….and it just kept activating all the time lo
Maybe if they made it so you have to do a very specific gesture but then again, doing all those squiggly marks with your finger is a massive PITA compared to simply holding down a button firmly (the button actually makes the device feel like a tool, it’s amazing, full circle utility…)
Like I said, action button is must have, a true idea for a srs pinch

In Apples brilliance, they have created a desire for this product in me that will cause me to purchase it at launch. Further, I will probably buy the inevitable overpriced case, I assume more that costs well in excess $300 (think Mac Pro wheels). They did this to me, this is their brilliance.

If I’m spending over $2000 on a phone, it needs to be at least as good as the iPhone Pro. Then it should do more.
Honestly the lack of telephoto is a bit of a dealbreaker for me. But I didn’t even think of the lack of an action button. I use that all the time for the flashlight.

I never accidentally click it. Even if I click it, it won’t trigger because it needs to be held down.
Lack of face id is a dealbreaker for me. Apple waited for so many years to bring a half cooked, expensive iPhone.
Even these Pros, they should now do 2 to 3 year release cycle. Annual releases with almost no changes makes no sense

Me neither, so set it to mute. But I miss the mute toggle. And the sleep/wake button on top.

I always thought that the iPad mini had the potential to be the ideal device in the modern age since most people today use their mobiles for text/email/content consumption with AirPods and very rarely as a phone. But Apple always deliberately gimped it by placing it between the base iPad and iPad Air. Apple could've moved the mini upmarket by giving it FaceID, OLED and the ability to use it as a phone but they didn't in order to protect the iPhone.
But apparently Huawei is going to take the risk with a similar form factor via the Pura X View. I personally think that this is the perfect device from a form factor perspective. I hope other Androids OEMs copy the form factor because I can't buy Huawei in the US.

I use it for turning on/off Vehicle Motion Cues (under Accessibility) for when I take a taxi or transit (I don’t drive). The “Automatically in Vehicle” setting hasn’t ever seemed to work for me, but maybe I’ll try it out again.

I keep seeing the reason for not having Face ID is because it’s too thin. I honestly don’t think that’s the reason, I’m sure the reason for Touch ID is so that unlocking the phone will be the same whether the phone is folded or unfolded. I can’t imagine them limiting Face ID to only one folded position, which is what they would have to do. The only way I could see them doing that in the future is to have both, use Touch ID when the phone is folded, and Face ID when it’s unfolded, but who knows.
