The iPhone 17 is an excellent value. We didn't say we wanted a "foldable". We said "affordable".

It’s not!!!Somewhat it is the return of the iPhone mini with extra iPad mini when unfolded. It is such a perfect two “mini” devices in one.
Yikes! Wider than the 17 Pro Max?!?Still looking pretty accurate:

I found the 17 Pro Max annoying for two-handed use too, mainly because of the width in combination with the depth. The biggest issue is going to be the closed width. If it's any wider than the current Pro phone, like the Pro Max phone, it'll be too wide for one handed use.
I mean, given that the original iPhone in box sells north of $40,000 all the time this is just factually incorrect. Finally, there isn't a phone in the world, Apple or otherwise, that is worth north of $2000.
Interesting to see that 5/5S/SE1 are still the all time thinnest iPhone when accounting for the bump
The iPhone 17 is an excellent value.
Are you holding your phone by its camera?
I mean, given that the original iPhone in box sells north of $40,000 all the time this is just factually incorrect.
Or the 2 TB 17 Pro Max, which is already $2000 pre-tax.
I think more what you mean is that there isn’t a phone worth $2000… to you. And that’s fine.
There are people who spend $200 on a sound bar at Best Buy for their home movie set up, and there are those who dump $10,000+ into a 7.1.4 full balls to walls Dolby Atmos set up with a receiver that’s $3000 on its own.
Worth is very subjective.
For me, my phone is a fun device. $2k seems insane.Speaking for myself, obviously. I decided a few years ago that $1200 was my upper limit, not because I can't afford more (I can), but they are not worth that much to me. I just don't care about phones to spend that much.
I can understand not being interested in the device, but not thinking it will actually happen?Apple spent the last 10 years moving away from physical buttons on iPhones to avoid wear, now they're supposedly going toward an entire phone that opens and closes? I still don't think this will actually happen.
No, not quite.
5.4 is just one measurement, it says nothing about the aspect ratio.
Assuming the rumors stick and the inside display is close to a 4 X 3 aspect ratio, the outside 5.3 inch display will be very wide and short, while the Mini display was more tall and narrow.
So…not really the same at all.
Do people serious buy all 2tb. That is where they rip you off. There’s plenty of other solutions for that. I always get the case for storage.I mean, given that the original iPhone in box sells north of $40,000 all the time this is just factually incorrect.

That’s why you don’t get Version 1 first gen. I’m gonna wait for 2nd gen iPhone Fold. Probably gonna keep getting the Pro Max with no compromises for a while. The screen size is fine, I would most likely stop using my iPad Air, but, but, the rumors say no FaceID and no telephoto lens, those 2 are absulte showstoppers for me
Or get a non-folding 7+" device for half the price of this!7.7 inches. Time to say so long to the iPad mini.
The iPhone Fold will have telephone, but it will probably be just 2x telephoto quality like the iPhone Air due to the thinness of the Fold. The Fold is rumored to be thinner than the iPhone Air.The screen size is fine, I would most likely stop using my iPad Air, but, but, the rumors say no FaceID and no telephoto lens, those 2 are absulte showstoppers for me
as I got the 17PM at launch, I'm in no hurryThe iPhone Fold will have telephone, but it will probably be just 2x telephoto quality like the iPhone Air due to the thinness of the Fold. The Fold is rumored to be thinner than the iPhone Air.
I would wait until Gen 2 iPhone Fold if you want less compromise.
Yeah I don’t want any compromises if I’m shelling out $2,000 plus for a Fold iPhone. I’m good with the Pro Max Lineup and all its glory.as I got the 17PM at launch, I'm in no hurry![]()
Not that relevant because the weight distribution of a smart phone in addition to the form factor being much better to use to read, edit, type on, take group photos with, more versatile how you prop it, and so onProviding it comes in at 140g. I fear it's going to weigh >200g.
