My two orders from yesterday still haven't generated any order confirmation emails and don't pop up in my Samsung account, or PayPal, yet my credit card still shows two pending charges. Samsung insists the orders will process.

In the meantime I found a .edu email address someone was selling on eBay for $10. I created a new account using the .edu email and the order went through, and got confirmation via email and in the app. All in it was $1990 after tax and I got the 2-year Samsung Care+ for free, so there's that. The seller I got it from said the email he uses has remained active for well over a year, so I'll for sure take advantage of this 😂 .

Just came back from the store and I love it. It's so light and I prefer the aspect ratio, especially portrait mode feels like a regular book size or iPad Mini. It just feels more natural than the previous squarecin a way?

I have to say that you don't gain anything in terms of Video consumption though, only that the black bars are slimmer.

I can easily type with one hand though I normally type with both hands anyway

Three apps side by side. Two big and 2 smaller square apps (so 4 in total) doesn't work btw

Some more Fold 7 VS Fold 8 photos

While I'm glad you can still one-hand the Fold8, it seems very wide compared to the 6.5" Fold7 cover screen. My TriFold has the same 6.5" cover screen and it's sometimes a stretch to one-hand, but that could be due to the added thickness.

As for not being able to open 4 simultaneous apps, the TriFold has that same limitation unless you do floating apps (then you can open a bunch more).

So, you will ultimately have 3 orders shipping? Same phones?

I think this is because if you flip the phone into portrait mode, the OS wouldn't know what to do with those two extra square apps as 3 already hardly fit (basically unusable) in portrait mode

I doubt the two orders from my original account will process, there's no record of any payment even in PayPal. When placing the orders I didn't even get an "order success" page after clicking on pay via PayPal, it kept erroring out. That's how I ended up with two pending credit card charges. I got order confirmation immediately after placing the latest order with the new account.

Is it true that the fold no longer has Samsung dex. A bit strange is true.

No flex mode and no dex.
Pretty easy fact check

After seeing all the videos regarding the Z Fold 8, I am even more excited for the iPhone fold.
I think I've made the decision to go with the iPhone foldable as well. Having the Trifold I still feel like I have the best overall Samsung foldable. I love ios as well and feel as if it will give me the best overall iPhone experience. I'll keep my 17PM around for when I need a better camera experience.

Next to iPhone 16
This initially concerned me, but then I thought about it - the shorter height is still usable for quick checks of emails, messages, setting up audio play lists etc. & the unfolded view is large enough but not cumbersome to use for either media consumption, browsing & more productive needs of Apps you’d use on the folded screen.

If I had it, it may mean I need a slight rethink of how I use a smartphone, which I don’t think would be too much of an adjustment.

& at home, currently my 11” tablet is a bit awkward to use on the couch, so this Fold 8’s smaller tablet form factor is going to be accessible in more rooms. The 11” can stay on a stand on a tabletop for when I’m seated there, but something like the Fold 8 can move with me & be the all in one portable screenS everywhere else.
