Flossy is a big Trifold fan.
I still love it and not sure I can part with it till the Tri2. I've even gotten used to the weight and thickness for the most part. However, I can't put it in my athletic shorts pocket without risking them falling to my knees.
My only issue with the trifold is that the first fold can't open into the same dual-screen size as the Z Fold 7. If they make a Gen 2 it'll be really interesting to see how they resolve this while still maintaining the durability of that inner screen, unlike the Huawei trifold.

Looks like used trifolds are selling for around $3000 on Swappa. If I was considering the Fold 8 Ultra at $2100 ($2300 with tax for me) I might be tempted. But my heart is set on the Fold 8 for now.

This is a good thing for all who are foldable fans. What would also be good is if Oppo had more of a global presence and could push Apple and Samsung. I really like what they have done with their foldables.

Agree.

Oppo might actually do it now that they have shuttered one plus. But they only have one foldable left.

And it is being heavily discounted in Europe. That’s usually not a good sign.

I hope so too but feel it'll never happen. At least not in the U.S. because 'Murica = good, world = bad. There's no way the carriers here would ever allow it or support Oppo. The cartel of Apple/Google/Samsung also will never allow that to happen as they would be destroyed by Oppo and Vivo if they had presence here. Last but certainly not least is the government, who would also likely find some way to prevent it.

I think Motorola's days are numbered too, sadly.

The best looking thing to me with this wide and short form factor is cover screen videos - It looks like such a nice, compact way to watch videos on the go. I could see me watching movies on a road trip easily with the cover screen.

It's going to be such a pleasure to use this phone closed. This is what I truly missed.

Feel the same way... with the Fold 6, I barely used the cover (outer) screen. From my perspective it was more so for quick interactions... that's how I set up my Home Screen.

But with this new form factor... I'll be more inclined to use the cover screen which probably do a whole different setup when it arrives.

Well Motorolas parent company Lenovo currently has a 0.3% marketshare in China so that’s not a good sign.

Oppo, vivo, and xiaomi all saw a double digit decline in China this last quarter. So I don’t think they would do any better in the states when they can’t even succeed in China.

Memory and storage price increases are really doing damage all across the board, except for Huawei and Apple. Currently they are the only ones posting a profit and a massive increase in market share.

Tracking number has been updated... its in my state, haven't shown the delivery date yet. But I have feeling it will arrive on Monday. I'll have to look for a screen protector ASAP... still haven't decided on what skin to use just yet.

Do you see yourself using the iPad less? How do you plan to use both tablets going forward?

I've been using the Fold+iPad combo for almost 6 years now... they both serve different roles, I use the Fold as a phone and tablet.. while the iPad serves as a tablet and laptop.

The iPad is cellular... that way I get Apple Ecosystem while on-the-go, since I'm not really interested in the whole two phone setup (no shade to those who do). Perhaps... instinctually I use the iPad less because there's this phone that can transform into a tablet, but I don't really think like that.

I'm really liking the Fold 8, but also thinking ahead, I'm also interested in the S27 Pro if it turns out to be true. I really want a true compact flagship from Samsung.

Also, I've loved the Flip line in the last couple of years. Seems like such a cool and fun phone to have and use. Miss having something different. But the super tall display feels kind of awkward to use.

Tough choice between those three...

Somewhat where I'm at. I'd love another foldable but I also like premium cameras. I'm interested in the possibility S27 Pro also.

If I find out HomeUp is not fully compatible with Z Fold 8... that's going to be really disappointing. I have a similar setup as Ben... I like to maximize my apps across the screen with 5 app column on the cover screen. Perhaps, we get an update when more users find out it's non existent... seems as if Samsung overlooked implementing that feature.

Hard to imagine Samsung deliberately decided that Fold 8 will be limited in that regard... such a silly thing if it's true, plan on reaching out for a response.
