I am super excited for the U.S. Tri Fold!

Lack of S Pen is super disappointing, but maybe I'll grab a few nice capacitive combo pens to keep in the car/home/office. Too bad it won't have Snapdragon Gen 5 but it will at least be on par with Fold 7 SoC, and will still be thinner than a Fold 5 (and less than a mm thicker than my Fold 6).

At the native 309 grams, it's no lightweight but ironically is still 1-2 grams lighter than the iPhone 12 Pro Max I had with case and tempered glass screen protector. Of course, the Tri-Fold will still be the heaviest phone I'll own once you add a screen protector and the included case(s).

But the best part is the quoted $2500 price for decent 16GB/512GB specs! Battery life is still a question mark but I haven't seen anything to drive me away from the Tri-Fold. I am getting one as soon as it's available to the U.S. market.

...oh, and that native DeX mode is sick. I already carry a wireless combo keyboard+touchpad with me when I head into the office so that will pair nicely with the Tri-Fold. Gotta get me that kickstand case too.

2500 is Korea price though so think 3k for US is minimum

I know this has just being announced, but I'm already thinking ahead at the second and third generation, with no crease at all in the screen, thinner (maybe, it's already difficult), lighter, brighter screen, bigger battery, better cameras... Although we all know how slow Samsung can be with upgrades, specially when they have no competition.

Who knows if there will be a second or third generation… look at what happened to the Galaxy S25 Edge? It all depends on how the market responds to it… I’m skeptical of it for reason already mentioned in this thread, so I don’t ever plan on buying it.

But if anything… at least Samsung is bringing products out in the market and not sitting on them, letting the consumers speak with their wallet to see if it’s worth moving forward with the product.

In those Tri Fold unboxing videos it seems the included charger is the sole reason for the humongous box.

I wondered why would Samsung waste all that packaging space just to include the 45W charger...that is, unless it's a necessity. I hope this isn't Samsung's indirect way of admitting the larger battery probably won't make it through the day. Hmm...

At least we'll get a better idea of battery life when the Tri Fold releases in other territories ahead of the US.

Think your over reading this :)

I think it's simply if your paying >$2.5K you want a better un-boxing experience :)

How is it a better experience? If anything the needless bulk detracts from the experience because you think of all the great stuff that must be packaged with this state-of-the-art phone, but nope it's just a charger and a bunch of air. From a packaging and shipment perspective it's very inefficient.

I think it's due to it being a large tablet versus the mini tablet we have with the Galaxy Fold... all Samsung Galaxy Tabs include a charger in the box, thus this 10 inch tablet (Tri-Fold) has to come with one too.

the Tabs 11's don't come with a charger block in the box.
