How is it a better experience? If anything the needless bulk detracts from the experience because you think of all the great stuff that must be packaged with this state-of-the-art phone, but nope it's just a charger and a bunch of air. From a packaging and shipment perspective it's very inefficient.
Whats efficiency got to do with presentation :)

Some like a nice box others are happy with a $3k device in a vanilla envelope for various reasons ECO or otherwise

This device like the Pro 6 Fold released just for the Korean market (probably why there is a charger) is likely more aimed at that market and will please some, but obviously not you :)

I simply suggest Samsung opted for this presentation format more for their home market and nothing to do with your thoughts on battery endurance

Point taken. Efficiency in terms of shipping phones on planes or cargo ships. Apple was able to drastically reduce their shipping costs per iPhone when they slimmed the packaging and eliminated the charger (all in the name of the environment). You can also stock more devices on shelves with slimmer packaging -- then again, the Tri Fold will sell in much smaller volume so could be a moot point. Samsung assumes everyone wants or, more importantly, will NEED the 45W charger. Am really curious about the real-world battery life when the info is available.

The Z TriFold is incredible. I commend Samsung for pushing the boundaries of hardware.

I think the biggest issue here is the weight. 309 grams is extremely cumbersome in a front pocket. (And that’s without a case, of course.) I just don’t think there is any way to argue against that.

Regardless, some people will ditch their tablet and get the Z TriFold to satisfy both needs.

I think my heaviest phone was the Fold 4 with S Pen case and screen protector, tipping the scale at 301 grams. That was still manageable and supported on my MagSafe car mount. It is incredible the Tri Fold is only 8 grams heavier overall. But like you said, no case. Any chance the quoted 309g already accounts for the included case that is shown in videos?

No chance.

I stumbled upon some old photos showing my Fold 5 + case + screen protector + S Pen + MagSafe ring weighed in at 311 grams, while my Fold 4 package weighed 322 grams! I was fine with either of those phones so I don't think I'll have a problem with the thinner Tri Fold and comparable mass.

Just watched all of Arun's (mrwhosetheboss) video. I was initially feeling my ZF7 is just fine and I don't need this. Now i'm getting pulled in pretty bad lol. Almost hope they skip a US release.
I see it as a 10" monitor with a phone attached to the back. That larger display has a lot less utility than the Z7, unable to prop itself up for taking pictures, a wider typing space or quickly unfolded to check something. The compromises to get it to market mean that you're essentially paying 200% of the price for a terrible phone experience and an even worse tablet. If your use case requires a keyboard and mouse to get it to do anything useful its already lost. The Z7 makes a good replacement for an iPad Mini. In this case you'd be better buying an S25 model and a Galaxy Tab.

Are you sure you can't stand the Tri Fold up or angle the camera side up to take photos? I understand the Tri Fold lacks Flex Mode but the camera should be able to work in the same manner even without Flex Mode UI.

The big appeal for me is literally the expansive display while keeping the form factor pocket friendly, and I'm willing to pay for that:

Everything else will be very similar to the Fold 7. I use the split keyboard on my Fold 6 and expect to do the same with the Tri Fold. I love my past few Fold phones but the thick letterbox bars detract from the experience. Glad the Tri Fold has an aspect ratio more conducive to widescreen content. The bigger screen will also be great for my work meetings.

And while it is cheaper to have a separate phone and tablet, I'd rather carry less not more. Case in point, I used to carry a George Costanza-sized wallet and a dozen keys in my pockets but have since managed to eliminate keys completely from my daily life and switched to a slim wallet that doubles as a MagSafe kickstand for my phone. Plus, you have to get a separate data plan for a standalone tablet. Sure, you can use your phone's mobile hotspot but past experience doing that has taught me you just drain your phone battery faster and once that's out then your tablet loses Internet access. The cost-saving workaround turned out to be more of a nuisance and I only bought LTE-enabled tablets after that. The irony is I sold my cellular M1 iPad Pro 12.9 after I got the Fold 4 because I no longer wanted to use the big heavy iPad. The Tri Fold will truly be the best of both worlds for me.
