I might actually open one of these cards up. Get $200 sign up on first $2000 spent 90 days as well as 5% cash back.

My credit score is categorized as exceptional but I didn't receive the offer to apply. Darn, and I plan to order some flooring soon too.

EDIT: Oh wait, looks like I received the offer in my school email account about an hour ago.

So with the new Samsung Card you'll get 5% back on a potential Fold 8 and earn an additional $200 from the purchase? That's potentially 15% discount right there!

Received the same email… but that’s if you buying the Fold without any trade-in for the additional $200 bonus, right? Doubt I’ll be spending 2k for the phone… at most 1k with my trade-in.

Good point, @Ludatyk.

I have all three credit reports frozen for protection. Since the Samsung offer says "no impact to credit score", would I still need to unfreeze the reports before applying?

Don’t let me go lying to you. But seems unusual to apply for it without them checking. Curious though… what Fold are you going for? Are you going to be using whichever alongside the TriFold?

I temporarily unfroze all three credit reports and will apply after work.

I won't be looking for another phone for a while, and no real desire to either. I'm trying to avoid upgrading my phone so often and, since I'm on monthly installments for the TriFold, have another 18 months anyways. Still loving the TriFold and it doesn't feel heavy at all to me (case and all), but my wife needed to borrow it the other day to make a call and she immediately noticed the weight difference compared to her iPhone 15 Pro (obviously).

I am curious how Samsung will incorporate the S Pen into the Fold 8, and whether the tech will make its way to a TriFold 2.

I’m not planning on applying for it… have an education discount, will use that alongside whatever perks Samsung decides to use for lowering the total cost.

And I plan on contacting them a few days after to see whatever discounts they can offer me as well. Looking forward to the Fold Wide… goal is to keep it for the next 2 years (even if they do bring back the S-Pen for the Fold 9), certainly will miss the S-Pen.

But I’m excited about the new shape… thin form factor and overall different experience compared to the Fold 6. Not quite sure if I’m going case-less.. depends on whether any case is appealing, but somehow have to find a way to use MagSafe (right now I use a skin with adhesive ring adapter).

Oh, so the Samsung Card $200 is "cash rewards", as opposed to cash back or statement credit. That is limiting and sucks too because Samsung rewards points expire.

Maybe I'll still apply. $200 in credits, plus my existing 17,000 points ($86 value), may snag a free Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 after trade-in.

I'm debating between the RAZR Fold and the iPhone Fold. I use the 17 Pro Max as my main phone, and I want to replace my work phone (Fold 3).

I can buy the Motorola now for €1,350, but I'm afraid Apple will still convince me to buy the iPhone Fold later, even if I get the RAZR now. 😄

I don't find it bulky so thinner isn't really a necessity. Let's see what the promos and trade-in offers are like.

I don’t think it’s bulky compared to the Apple Watch Ultra but Samsung is making it thinner because they want to sell more.

It is understandable since their watch segment declined around 30% and is now around 5% marketshare, which is quite small.

Well the good news is they aren’t one plus. 😂

One thing is for sure if you wait until Apple releases their foldable, Motorola will offer an incredible discount to stay relevant.

Surprised you didn't upgrade to the Pixel Watch 4... consensus is that its a huge improvement over the previous model, definitely enjoying mine. My only complaint is that I can't find a tall watch stand... it's completely nonexistent.
I thought about it but as I use my AW Ultra most of the time my Samsung and Pixel watches are secondary devices. Was hoping for some kind of design change for future Pixel watches. I still may jump on the next one. I have a nice Google store credit that needs to be used. I really do love the pixel watches software though. Possibly my favorite of all of them even though the AW Ultra is my favorite overall watch.

What particular change are you looking for? I actually like the current design now… granted I wouldn’t mind the screen size being bigger.

Pretty much bigger screen. And also perhaps a little more durable like the Ultra watches from Samsung and Apple. My PW3 is scratched to hell. I know it's not quite in the same cost tier. Maybe an option for a Pixel Watch Ultra would be nice. Surely I'm not the only one that would buy it.

I forgot, can we expect to preorder it already tomorrow after the event or is it only the presentation with the preorder starting next week?
That's one thing about Samsung... there's not a specific time, we just have to check the website or app during the presentation. But it's definitely tomorrow... order portal could open during the presentation or after, no one really knows.

I will be watching Samsungs event later today (UK time), I'm interested to see what Samsung are doing this year, especially with the wide foldable. Be interesting to see how the folds from Samsung and Google, compare to Apple's Ultra in September.
