LOL...Samsung\Android fans are angry.

I can't believe they are not hiding under a rock until the bad news goes away (that's what I would do if Apple reported such losses).

Gotta hand it to them, they are loyal troopers (but they would be more effective if they went to another section of this site to make up stories about how all the iPhones they own are bent).
Your first mistake is assuming anyone is mad and if you believe facts makes someone "mad", then you need to re-evaluate your life. Second, other than Apple users and or shareholders, most people don't care.

As for the making up of the bent phones, try telling that to the people it happened too. You don't want to admit it happened, fine but sticking your head in the sand doesn't make it any less true.

That's because of the 40% profit Apple makes on every phone sold, one day people will realise that. And as for the insult of Samsung copying, such a funny hypocritical comment, considering the Apple Phablet that rips off Android completely in conception.

Why do you assume that people aren't aware of Apple's profits? I think most people who buy Apple products are quit happy with Apple making a profit.

Big Androids were because of a NON CELLUAR device? No. Android is only here because of Apple? Where to begin, other than that Android was years in development prior to ANY iphone being released but let's not let facts get in the way of your FUD.

There's a thread of truth burried in there: the Galaxy Tab - the first Android competitor - was still a phone.

It was a phone? Pretty sure it was just a tablet with 4G connectivity.

I stand corrected, many apologies!

There was a phone app as seen here:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_7.0

...and I remember a first boot up video that said 'welcome to your android phone'.

You're right though, my bad :)

Really?
Who cares if a business makes profit except those who are engulfed in their own desire to feel important that they buy a product from a profitable corporation.

Most people wonder why Apple gouges the consumer so much for their products.

Hmm...yet here you are posting again and again. Most people might not care, but, obviously, you do.

There you go. I think you can do more "harm" to Apple if you post about your bending iPhones. Remember to stop by the thread where they talk about how slow all iPhones are because they only have 1GB of ram.

Posting in this thread is useless for an Android crusader since all the posts in the world will not change the fact that Samsung reported a profit loss.

Really, fair uninformed statement if you believe that no one cares if businesses make profits. There are about 1 billion people who might disagree with your choice of the word gouge. Fairly significant number by any stretch.

No, I don't. And second I don't care about Samsung. So you are wrong on both counts but hey, A for effort.

There is no gouging if there are other easily accessible choices and it's not a necessity product.

Nobody's forcing you to buy an Iphone, or any other phone. You could do without one, buy a pay as you go burner phone, a cheap Moto G or Lumia 520.

Pharmaceutical companies which suddenly charge extorsion level prices for efficient but very old medications, often off patent, because they are the only one left to produce it, because it made so little money for other makers and they prefer going to something sexier. Well, those are gougers. There are no other options (or sometimes economically possible options) for those people; for them, it can be life and death.

Actually Winni, most of it is invested in securities. Primarily Apple buys long-term, highly-rated and highly-liquid securities issued by governments and other companies. I think it was $135 billion of their savings is in that form. So Apple takes its money and gives it to governments and other companies in return for bonds issued by those entities. Then those entities do what they will with the money. Apple keeps ten to twenty billion in bank accounts for working capital, but that is about it (though that is a huge amount).

Considering the big currency movies that occured lately, wouldn't be surprised if they're using this money in a creative way to edge against that .

The majority of the population of the world, don't care about companies making profit. So his statement holds true.

But people will notice when a company makes no profit for a while... burns through their cash... and either goes bankrupt or becomes acquired and dismantled.

There used to be 60 PC vendors in the world. Then the price wars happened and reduced margins to unsustainable levels... some companies could barely stay alive... so all but a dozen remain.

Android seems to be following that same path... 60 Android OEMs... but only a handful making money.

Believe it or not... profits are what allow companies to keep making products. It's not just for show.

But you do care about Android, right? Come on, admit it. ;)
I use it, yes, what's your point? Or you just trying to provoke?

----------

Your statement holds no water, sorry. The original poster does not know what people care about and the general population of the world is irrelevant to the point.
As if yours does and you do? Sorry but no, it doesn't and you don't. And yet another thing that I can't stand with some of you Apple users is that you think your opinions and comments hold much higher value or somehow are more relevant than a non-Apple user. But in reality, it certainly doesn't and isn't.

But I'll let you think you are somehow better. I have nothing further to say.

Good. I'm an Android fan, but Samsung sucks. They're ruin of Android with their TouchWiz UI is atrocious. They know it too since the S6 is supposed to have a more true Android feel to it.

My point? Well, that you are an Android fan in an Apple forum. It seems to me that you are the one who is trying to provoke.

I know enough to say if you are in a country where your economy is fueled by manufacturing, technology, and other services and is growing you do care about finances. You may not know every number, but you care that the job you are seeking is because your company is hiring and not losing money and going out of business.

Frankly I don't care how you portray classes of people and I don't care if you believe you are somehow better than others by writing condescending posts with the believe somehow your world view is superior to others. It really isn't. And as you say I have nothing further to say as this is the internet, where you check your ego and sometimes your common sense at the door.

Not really

Apple and other corporations are doing exactly what everyone does, including you, uses the current tax law to pay the least amount of taxes they are required to. Whether through deduction or loophole or tax break or tax refund. Your problem isn't with Apple, your issue should be with the people making those laws...or the people voting them into office.

An analogy I would use is if you caught your wife cheating on you with another guy...don't get mad at the guy trying to get laid...be mad at your whore wife.

Thanks for getting it. Keep in mind too that you and me pay more taxes because of this untaxed cash piling that goes on. In fairness it is NOT just Apple doing it but they are a huge player in that game.

I own stocks in companies too like many other people but I'd much prefer a slightly lower return and good jobs for my fellow Americans. Or, I'd pay a little more for my devices. I mean that too. I wish others agreed with me.

So you really have no point, that's what I thought.

Oh, and point out where *I* am trying to provoke. You can't.

What he is saying is writing posts in a style that may be considered to be condescending and snarky is meant to provoke. Just a general comment not directed at anyone.
