I actually feel sorry for you that you can't see the world through other people's eyes. You sound like you are old enough to know that everyone has their own priorities in life. I hate slasher movies but I don't call gore fans "crazy". I simply understand the need for people to fulfill their own pleasures in life.

If you don't like something that other's are doing, nobody is forcing you to watch or read about them. :)

Chris, you are awesome. This is what makes the world go around, everyone has their own thing in this world and their own passions, priorities, and interests. I wonder when everyone will stop judging each other and just learn to enjoy life and love this planet we live on (even though it's totally hosed right now!). Maybe when that happens we can begin fixing all these problems in the world.

And who knows, if all the people who judge others will open up their minds, maybe they will see some new things that they were missing out on. I'm not saying waiting in line for an iphone is an experience to remember, but let's say you think people who water ski are crazy and you judge them, but then you try it one day and you completely fall in love with it and realize what fun you've been missing out on. See!

Each to their own.

I think people who watch NFL, NHL and other ***** American sports are 'crazy' but that doesn't matter... Because it means I just don't watch them.

You didn't have to queue, you didn't want to queue and you didn't queue. Good for you.

Im actually 22 and work with my dad, he just has stronger links than me :)

Would i look back on this? No as doing this sort of thing is far too normal and quite an everyday occurance for me........
One thing that you might want to keep in the back of your mind, is that someday this charmed life may end and you will just be a common person.

Of course some of those common folks that you walked all over during your young life might have fun paying you back in spades when you most need to depend on them.

BTW, in case you are thinking this may never happen to you, I offer this. Over the years, I've had a few multimillionaires cry on my shoulder when the chips have been down financially or personally. As they say, **** happens. No I am not rich, but was either their friend, boss or co-worker that they trusted enough to open up. Sad stories to say the least...

You see when your on salary, you get paid if your at work or not, so for me I got paid $30+/Hour to stand in line, drink free water, and eat snacks.
Curious, how did you get paid your salary when you were waiting in line?

Your boss just let you go stand in line, or were you on leave?

Each to their own.
Yep, to each his own.

I knew when I read the title to this thread that the OP was gonna get smashed in here but, I totally agree with him. I spent my Friday and Saturday on the lake wakeboarding and enjoying the weather. I also met several new friends at the restaurant/bar after I got off the lake so I accomplished both I think. I dont have the 3G iphone yet but I have the satisfaction that purchasing a cell phone wasn't the top priority in my life.

Get outside....thats where life is.

Why are the two exclusive? Not only were many of us waiting for the iPhone already OUTSIDE, we too socialized over common enthusiasm.

Having one of the first 3G iPhones also generates MORE socializing from the curious.

  • Friday morning - Waited 3.5 hrs. for the iPhone and had a blast with people
  • Saturday - Rode my Brompton in the park which attracted people to chat

This narrow idea about people waiting in lines is an unsupported generalization.

I'll determine what is a waste of my time, thank you very much. In fact, I have just determined that this thread is a waste of my ti...

I'm done.

What about the people that camped for a week in line for a PS3?

Part of the "fun"...

I stood in the line for Leopard, didn't buy it but got a free T-Shirt. :D

Also got to watch all the Apple Store employees clap as you go in....

Bet ya they weren't clapping shortly afterwards when they started trying to activate all these iPhone purchases...
