Siri won't wear off, at least for me, since I can now use Siri to send/listen to text messages while on the road.

My wife, who is battling a bug this weekend, just told Siri, "Please tell [me] to bring me my pills."

Up popped a text on my phone.

So, she has a whole new way to boss me around!

I better not let my wife see this thread then! :D

Love my upgrade from 4 to 4s yet agree that those simply using it for calls/email have very little reason to upgrade (for the price that is)
I find the phone/antenna's to be FAR superior over the iPhone 4...I used to drop calls all the time with my 4 (at&t)...I haven't dropped a single call with the 4S...
I have also found the 4S phone section to be louder and have better bluetooth connections...even the iPod section is louder in my bluetooth headphones...

I've also noticed the antenna improvement. I couldn't hardly make a call from my living room before unless I had a bumper case on my iphone 4. Now I can make a naked iphone call from my living room with no problems.

You've had the phone for an entire 2 days...

I'm not sure how your BT headphones can be any louder considering the BT signal carries the audio stream and the volume is dictated by the headphones themselves. Sounds like placebo.

I had been listening to an old James Taylor album on my iPhone 4 and my bluetooth headset. It was not from a remastered CD and the volume was very low on my bluetooth headphones...today I listened to the same files on my iPhone 4S and the volume was MUCH higher...also, I would frequently lose the bluetooth signal if I put my iPhone 4 in my pocket while running/walking, I have not lost the connection once the past two days no matter where I put the phone...
As far as only having the phone for two days, I have gone several places where I would drop calls (including certain rooms in my house) and have not dropped a single call no matter how I hold the phone...It certainly seems the redesigned antenna array is superior to the older one.
If you want to call that a "placebo" effect, that is fine...all I know is I'm MUCH happier with the phone, iPod and bluetooth connections with the iPhone 4S, either real or imagined...:D

I'm not doubting your happiness, or even the BT connection quality, just your volume claim. I'll pair my BT to my friends 4s next time he's around and judge for myself. I'll either eat some humble pie or confirm that this claim is BS.

do

No thanks, I'll pass.

If this thread was called "For anyone on the fence about going from 3G(s) to 4S do it!". Then I'd agree.

I have used a TON of phones in the past two years. If money isnt that big of a deal to you the upgrade is well worth it.

You do whatever you feel you need to do...LOL

Plus you could sell your 4 now, save the money, and sell your 4s next year and that would cover the early upgrade fee for the new one

Thanks for your blessing.

And no one who hasn't upgrade is calling anyone else who has a moron or idiot. Its actually the people who have upgraded that are saying "oh everyone should do it now"

Know what you're talking about before running off at the mouth next time.

There have been some posts insinuating that owners of an iphone 4 who chose to upgrade to a 4s were idiots. Certainly not all of the posts, but there have been a few.

I'm sure there are exceptions. (though I have not seen those posts) Just like the few exceptions of people how have upgraded who think those who haven't simply cannot afford to do so.

It's an idiotic claim for either side to make of the other. Those that upgraded can do so for whatever reason, even if it's "just because I can" and those of us who haven't have our reasons as well. I don't see any hold outs trying to convince 4S owners to return their phone and go back to the 4.

It's not the optics that bother me on the 4 (though the 4S is definitely superior there). It's the inability for it to set the white balance properly under anything that's not sunlight or incandescent that bothers me. Occasionally during gatherings I like to take pictures of my friends and family - with the 4S, the pictures under those conditions turn out much better.

Hmm.. interesting, I didn't notice this with mine. Well stated terraphantm

Sounds like people are talking about two different phones here. One half says "so lightening fast I can't believe what a hunk of junk the iPhone 4 is!!!!1!" and the other half says "meh". Seems like a lot of folks are over-justifying their rather expensive purchase, while others are being a bit more realistic about the differences.

The iPhone 4S is on fire compared to the iPhone 4. It's so fast! Everything is fluid and responsive. It feels as though this is the way iOS is supposed to be experienced.

It looks like the consensus is that iPhone 4S is better than its predecessor just not as much as hyped by Apple. The only significant improvement is GPU but not that many Alps really benefit from this. With this in mind perhaps the best thing to do for iPhone 4 owners is to wait and see what Samsung Nexus Prime has to offer.

The iPhone 4 definitely has a warmer camera, and some even has the green tint in the center. But, it is one of the best phone cameras out there, and most people who have used one would agree.

The 4S is much improved upon something that was already pretty stellar.

Point me to where Apple "hyped" 4s performance over 4 using hyperbole?

As for the "only significant improvement" being the "GPU", I have to call complete BS on that one- that's exactly the kind of hype you are attacking.

As for the Nexus Prime, I can predict what it will offer- nice screen, buggy 3rd party apps, terrible battery life coupled with fast NW performance and among the worst customer support on the planet.

You guys are right as of RIGHT NOW there is no benefit really in the hardware vs. the iphone 4. If developers start to utilize the multicore ability as well as the new GPU, then obviously the 4s will show to be a big improvement over the iphone 4. it's been TWO DAYS and iPhone 4s owners are already knocking on iPhone 4 owners (and vice versa). WHO CARES?!

Android owners don't even need to troll here, all these Apple owners are doing fine without them lol.

3gs to 4s: do it, do it now!

4 to 4s: not so much. the 4 is quite fast, quite powerful for every iOS app now. You should not even need to stay on the fence.

It is very simple reasoning. If you are upgrade-eligible and you can flip the 4 with some profits, then why not. However, it means you extend your contract another 2 years. so, when the 5 coming out, you may not be able to upgrade to the 5. Just weigh these aspects and choose your way.

Don't get into the argument you should upgrade to 4s because it is faster. It is the fact that 4s is faster 4. Nothing to argue here. If the faster the better is your main consideration, then just buy it. don't bother to trouble your mind with hesitation. However, if your main consideration are the efficiency, usability, convenience, sufficiency, then the 4 is quite enough.

Sure, if one pretends Siri doesn't exist. Sort of like saying, "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"... ;)
