For the last time, 3.0 WILL NOT BE RELEASED next monday

Only because Apple either meets the deadline or misses the deadline. I don't see them releasing it early unless they are really trying to get at the Palm Pre early on. I would LOVE to eat my words and I hope I do, but I just don't see any releases for another few weeks.
 
I was on the phone with a applecare for my ipod shuffle, and she used to work ( let me see if I got this right) Tier 2 iphone support, she switched to ipod support of whatever she called it and I asked her about that and she said that she hasn't heard anything about 3.0 coming out in the next week or two... I also asked her about the new iphone and when that was coming out and she said she didn't hear anything about that, but she did say that they have had a lot of things going on in the last couple of weeks..

This is the title she has now....

Oh but I'm really sure she would have broken her confidentiality agreement and told you EVERYTHING!
If she knows, she wouldn't tell you.
 
I just hope they release Flash with 3.0, because ******* is killing me with their crappy videos.

FLASH is not in 3.0, its not coming.

I wish the world would get over that proprietary POS software. Everyone hates proprietary hardware but for some reason don't share the same disgust when locked into software, go figure/

Ugh, that would really make it a megaton update, though. Damn near every major website uses Flash. They could AT LEAST try to release something similar that works in place of Flash so that said sites would work.

Uh, software doesnt really work that way......
 
There's nothing good about Flash on mobile devices. All it does is drain battery life drastically, sadly.

She did sound nice.... As for the other poster. I don't expect her to tell me anything.. Why should she.. I'm just trying to be like everyone else SPEWING out crap about what they know and do not know.. NOBODY knows what is going to happen until we get an announcement.... PERIOD

I'm mixed on this, but I have to ask... Why update iTunes (which is for 3.0 support) if the 3.0 update isn't coming soon?

That is my thinking also. I am pretty sure that 3.0 (public beta or as they call it final) will be out. It won't be until 3.2 before its bug fixed anyway. Remember 2.0!!!
 
for no reason i just there to be at least 2 more betas before the final 3.0 comes out:D
 
I'd bet heavily we see 3.0 final on monday.

It's obvious Apple has been head down working to finish bugs and get it done.

Beta's were released every 2 weeks on the dot, then beta 5 came after only a week from beta 4 with very few changes and then nothing for a MONTH after that.

Apple has already mandated all Apps for the past few weeks be ready and working on 3.0 devices. And iTunes 8.2 with support for 3.0 is already out.


Apple will want to get 3.0 out there to blunt the Pre before it can take off.

The new 3rd gen iPhone which will unlock other new features in 3.0 will probably be shown and given a release date.
 
IF, and that's a big if, 3.0 is released Monday, it will be another 2.0 release, where everything is too buggy and everyone will complain about it. I really hope it doesn't, because I know myself and I'll download it and have to suffer a few months before a stable update comes out.

haha...thats a good one too..

sometimes when playing music with the phone in standby..ill double click the home button to bring up the music controls...sometimes they come up, but they dont have the "slide to unlock"...so i cant unlock it..love that one too.
 
A week after WWDC at the soonest......

Maybe Apple decided not to release anymore betas and got all the bugs fixed for the final.
