My order history is still "In progress" with a shipping date of 28/03/2011, so maybe they're not calling because their system hasn't been updated yet?

I'm going to ring them again at 5 to see what's happening (or not)...

Just received email from Macwarehouse, i asked them if they can confirm tomorrows delivery.

We are unable to confirm delivery for tomorrow as the ipads are currently being allocated to the orders. if you contact us again tomorrow we will be able to give you more information...

so thats my £9.99 potentially wasted.. think I'll wait till tomorrow and see what happens before i kick up a bit of a stink.. Granted my fault for not getting in quick enough, but if you pay for next day delivery then you expect delivery the next day....

Unbelievable - looks like MacWarehouse may have pulled it out of the bag!

Just got a call, presumably from their warehouse, to confirm my shipping address and notify me that my order has been released :)

Not sure exactly when the delivery will happen - got to call Customer Services to confirm...

Online order status now showing as "Received".

Same here except the guy on the phone said it should arrive tomorrow :)

*Sigh*

Well, that was short-lived.

Called MacWarehouse again (for the 4th time today) to find out that the call from their warehouse person was merely to notify me that they'd received my order and that it had passed their security checks. Not that the order was on it's way.

And guess what? They've run out of stock...
Apparently their system couldn't cope with 80 orders in an hour (prompted by this thread) that they got this morning, and therefore the stock status wasn't updating live. Computers, eh?

I'm now number 22 on their back-order list, and they're expecting 140 units in 1 1/2 - 2 weeks time. All they could do was throw in free next day delivery to compensate.

And to think I could have ordered from John Lewis this morning instead...

Did you order over the phone or online? And at what time?
 
@markgoldstein Apprently I got a e-mail saying that they do not have any instock, then I send them an e-mail saying please cancel my order because you are taking the piss (not in those words), then I get a call saying your order is on its way and I have a DHL tracking number! :|
 
An update for those interested...

I ordered from macwarehouse Sunday afternoon, didn't choose next day delivery (I have deadlines on Tuesday and didn't want it to arrive then).

Today (Monday) morning a got a phonecall checking my delivery address and the guy on the phone said it would arrive Tuesday. I now have a tracking order from DHL and I'm now looking forward to delivery! Woooo!
 
For everyone that cancelled their macwarehouse orders, be sure to check your online banking. They have taken my money even though my order was cancelled. Hopefully this isnt the beginning of a long nightmare!!!
 
Thank you act1980 for posting this site! I have received my iPad this morning! It's pretty epic! Hope all who have missed out manage to find an iPad for yourself !
