Works fine here with no problems. MMS working on O2 as well.

Only thing I see is that my photos I have taken do not so up in iPhoto when my phone is plugged in.


They've slightly changed the MMS message view as well, much, much better now.

I was able to upgrade to 3.0 using the build used by other users without a hitch! For those who can't wait, go for it!

I didn't restore mine, I just did a normal update holding option and all my data is still on the phone, no need for a restore. Also, there is no camera button for MMS.

Took me about 10 mins for everything to be done.

To sync your music and apps will take MUCH longer.

But 10 min for the OS sounds about right.

Don't worry about bricking or anything of the sort.

This is the file they'll release in a week. Why wait?

Because this was if they find any major bugs in the GM they have time to fix them before the release. Also gives time for developers to fix their own apps.

Also gives the apple machine the ability to generate a week's worth of free advertising iPhone software buzz until it drops. The media eats itself up with all things iPhone and apple sits back and enjoys the free media/advertising buzz.

If you are using an iPhone 2G it is the correct file, if you're using a 3G it is not.

ok im using the 2g one and should i have the newest itunes ummm 8.2

Just updated mine, worked flawlessly for me.

i've just done this with o2, lets see if they set my MMS up early:

When you've downloaded the iPhone OS 3.0 software, we'll set up picture messaging for you. When it's ready, we'll send you an MMS.

If your picture message from us hasn't arrived after 10 minutes, text 'MMS' free to 1010 and we'll try again.

You can use your text bundle to send picture messages in the UK and abroad. One picture message equals four normal texts, or if you've got no bundle texts left, they cost 24.47p a message (21.28p excluding VAT).

Just google search "iPhone 3G 3.0 GM Torrent", It should say build 7A341. If you're using an Original iPhone, download one with 1,1. If 3G download 1,2.

Hold down the alt key and click on check for update in iTunes, this will give you the option to select the 3.0 firmware.

Took the plunge. Works fine. No issues. I'm on a first gen iphone using the 1,1 3.0 release. After it restored, i did a backup from right before i did it and everything is perfect. Gonna sync everything back on in a few.

You're right, I didn't realise that. It's all showing there now in the about screen on my phone.
Perhaps it was due to spotlight indexing my phone.

Took the plunge. Restoring from backup right now. I'll update ASAP. BTW, I'm on a GoPhone plan, so this might get strange.

Syncing....I do have the 'Encrypt BackUp' option, though. Good sign.

Worked. No MMS or tethering options, and I had 'Notes' hidden using bossprefs. It didn't come back.

Hey man I downloaded it from the torrent and its on my desktop but its asking me to choose and application for it. When i try and restore with it, it wont let me select it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
