Haha :)

The BT with go "off" once it is disconnected from the car. The battery shouldn't be an issue.

If everything had BT 4.0, that wouldn't be a problem since it's low powered, a lot more than 2.1. The problem is, not everything is up to speed yet.... it's definitely a problem with peripherals.

I seriously wonder when general awareness will kick in. For instance, since 2007, I've had 4 smartphones, and many others probably a lot more. Today I'm 23 and I really start thinking about stuff like pollution, exploitation, environmental damage, etc. Do we really need to buy new gadgets every other year or even every year? I plan to keep my current phone (which I bought used btw) as long as it works, and after that, I'll probably consider buying a Fairphone or whatever similar will exist then.

Sorry for the off topic post.

i currently have an iphone 5, nexus 5 and a note 3. ill buy the iphone 6 if the screen size increases

Understood .... Because it should match the other two ugly devices
Let's hope in a 6.2" iPhone 6, so Samsung won't have the most ridiculous form factor smartphone anymore :D

Good point @insel, there's a movement called the Restart Project in the UK dedicated to repair and reuse, precious metals used in phones is getting harder (and less ethical) to obtain.

I currently have a (secondhand) iPhone 5 and a cheap Galaxy Fame (also secondhand) and probably won't get an iPhone 6. More likely I'll get a used 5s when there's a glut of them on the market when everyone gets the 6.

I currently use a 4S and have an upgrade available for my line. I'm not sure if I'm gonna use the upgrade as of yet because I enjoy being off-contract, as we've used this as some leverage with AT&T with five smartphone lines with unlocked phones off-contract, but we'll see. If I do, I'll be buying unlocked and off-contract. I enjoy being on the S cycle, but the 5S just wasn't enough for me to upgrade to, like many others feel as well. We'll see come this fall what the iPhone 6 will bring!

A 5.5-5.7" screen would be PERFECT. I used a friend's S4 the other day. That display, damn was it HUGE compared to my 5!

Anyway, I'll upgrade to the 6 no matter what. If the screen size doesn't increase, fine. 32GB doesn't become the entry model, fine.

I have a 5 and a Nexus (hardly ever use the Nexus, iOS is nicer). May consider the 6 if the screen is bigger. But not too much bigger :)

I think I will switch to unsubsidized phones. Maybe go prepaid. The mobile share program is approximately the same price as my existing 450 minute plan (3GB data) if I go with the 1GB data. Which would mean move some of my data usage such as pandora to my iPad in the car.

Hard to decide. Prepaid would be $25/month cheaper. Pay for the subsidy difference in under 2 years. Or just stay with my plan, which is less worry than prepaid. And donate my phone to a family member if they want to upgrade to a smart phone.

It won't, at least not in the US. We are a mega-consumerist society that always has to have the latest and greatest. No one wants to be left behind with the old "good enough" gadget. Thanks to that, Apple will continue to have the new "best selling iPhone ever" every year of release.

using an i5. i4 before this, 3g before that. I'll be sticking with numerical upgrades, or the 2 year plan. Whichever holds out longer. (don't think we'll see and iPhone 13, or subsidized upgrades much longer.)

The 5s wasn't spiffy enough for me, and I'm really hoping for a "genuinely" larger screen. iTouch looks cool, and I've been waiting for nfc or an equivalent since the 3g. those samsung "tech tiles" would be amazing if my phone could use them or something similar. Hell, even geotagged alert profiles would be nice. I want my phone to switch to silent when I get to work, and sync to my car when I get in. Im ****** tired of having to switch to the bluetooth and meh, its such a hassle I don't use it.

No need to wait for I6 to have it sync automatically to your car. My 5s does that flawlessly on my 2011 mazda 3 GTS. Spotify instantly starts to play from my iPhone as soon as I turn the the car on. I love this feature !

I don't intend to sound rude, but I know what I'm doing. I do not leave BT on, not does my deck/phone respond well to the other.

What I want is to be able to tap my phone to a sticker, and have it turn on BT, and other features.

I do appreciate you trying to help though.

When the 6 comes out, unless it's significantly improved over the 5s, I'll likely just upgrade to the 5s, because the price should drop a wee bit.

Seriously, knock on wood, but my 4 is still chugging right along.

I have a 5s, but I'm on the fence about upgrading to the 6. I say this every year, and I always upgrade regardless. I just don't want a phone with a huge screen (ie. Galaxy Note). I've played around with the Galaxy S4, and that screen, to me, was a bit too big for my liking. If Apple offers the 6 in a bigger screen and I'm not a fan of it, I have no problem sticking with my 5s.

samsung doesnt have the largest screen phone

that would be the ASUS Fonepad (7 inches)

I'm currently on the 5S. If it's true that the iphone 6 will have at least a 4.5" screen or greater, I'm definitely buying one outright. If they stick with the same 4" screen I most likely will stick with the 5S.

We all know the rumours re: the iPhone 6.

For those of us seriously considering this model, what are you currently using?

Myself: iPhone 4. Not fond enough of 'taller' iPhone 5/5s to upgrade yet.

I don't know if I can seriously consider a phone when the specifications and reviews aren't out, but assuming it's a good product, I'd consider it.

I'm using a iPhone 5. I didn't upgrade this last cycle because I tend to keep my phones awhile.

I've got an iPhone 5. I was tempted to get the 5S but there just wasn't enough there for me. I'll definitely be getting the 6 regardless. My spare line is up for upgrade in October so I'll be getting the 6 this year. I'm deep deep into the Apple ecosystem so they'd have to seriously ruin the phone for me to go somewhere else.

I'm using an iPhone 4, and I can't wait to upgrade to the iPhone 6. However, I must say that I prefer the size and weight of the iPhone 4 compared to the iPhone 5/S/C. The iPhone 4 feels just right in my hands, whereas the iPhone 5/S/C feels too light and too tall. Maybe it's just because I'm used to the iPhone 4, and I'll likely change my mind once I switch!

I am using a 5S.

I will upgrade to the 6 regardless, but what i want from it is, a larger screen (5inches would be great, but not above 5.5), a faster proc obviously to drive the higher resolution, and atleast 2 gigs of ram.

Thats pretty much it, and I would go with the 32GB model this time instead of 16.

Currently using a 5S. Will upgrade every odd year....spouse every even year :D.
