Whatever makes you feels better about your purchase.

Let's be honest, on paper these specs looks good but in reality it's very minor.

I stopped long time ago trying to justify me upgrading. I came out as an addict back in 2012 when I said I bought two Samsung Galaxy Note 2's because I use the other one as my "iPod.". 🤣🤣🤣

I'm of the opinion that I do enjoy reading through Macrumors, but someone else's thoughts on if I should or shouldn't upgrade, if its worth it or not worth it are completely irrelevant. Not meant to be harsh but it's utterly irrelevant.

If you want it, get it. Someone else thinking you shouldn't is of no importance.

You can always compare it to the first iPhone then everything will be good upgrades. So you keep doing this and buy iPhones every year? It’s not a good comparison.

By your logic, Apple can release the exact same phone and rebrand it as the iPhone 17 Pro, and you will still compare it to the iPhone 4,5,6,7 and found it to be a groundbreaking astonishing amazing magical upgrade.

There is a reason people compare it to the last year’s iPhone. Why? Because it’s exactly what has been upgraded from last year. This is a good metric. Only by doing this we can know that Apple didn’t really upgrade much on the iPhone 15 Pro (especially Pro Max), in old Apple, they will give it the S name. The current Apple? f it. Just increase the numbers. Samsung made a bad example LOL.

It's not a bad upgrade, just a boring incremental upgrade. Worse so for the 16 Pros.

That doesn't mean they're bad phones, they are very good and yes especially best for those who have 13 Pro or older.

Blur maybe?
I'm not a promotion fan and turn it off on any device that supports it.
Even if I did think it looked better, because its so visually different than most of the other screens in my life, I'd prefer them all to match as much as possible.

It is a solid upgrade, just not if you are coming from a 14 onwards. Most people are now upgrading every 3 to 5 years, just not tech nerds who upgrade every year and moan that the jump isn't enough. It wasn't a huge upgrade for me coming from a 13 Pro Max, but the camera upgrades are welcome, a part from the camera button that I practically never use.

Gap is as wide as Grand Canyon as long as the base doesn’t have Promotion.
As always YMMV I use my partners 12 all the time and notice pretty much zero difference from my 14 Pro max and I am looking for it. I dont know anyone "normal" that ever mentions it. Battery life is far more important for the average Joe (and USB C)

All iPhones are great but that doesn’t mean they’re good upgrades over the previous model.

Look at the iPhone 14, for example.

It’s a brilliant phone with almost no flaws however it’s the worst upgrade I’ve ever seen as it’s basically the iPhone 13 with the 13 Pro’s SoC.
