But then…. why did you buy it?

The same reason you'd expect.... In other words, just because.

:)

I was attracted by the testimony regarding invincible battery life as experienced by the owners of the older 6 Plus, and I just thought I'd give it a try. The coworker's testimony about how he'd got rid of his iPad because the Plus was so perfect...that was another influence.

Let me confess just how big an idiot I am, though.

I just bought a 6S to go along with my 6S Plus. LOL....

I bought a Moto X a while back just to learn about Android and see what people were talking about and decided that I didn't like it and could do without it, so I'm moving that number onto the new 6S (being delivered today!) and will carry that when I'm hiding from work or when I'm on a hike.

Not to go OT but I use an Android phone as well just because there are things I can do with my Note 5 I just can't do with my 6S+. Plus I still prefer the Note just for multimedia usage.

I'm still wishing I had the 6s instead of the plus!
This is why I bought both. After I bought the 6S+ two weeks ago, I started wanting the 6S also just for times when I want a smaller phone like at my job. I got the 6S delivered Wednesday night. Both phones are excellent.

It was a pain at first, probably for the first week and a half. I came from a 5S (I like being on the S release cycle but I digress). It required a very different approach to holding it, so much that I tried to return it and wasn't able to because it had a few small scratches. I ended up holding onto it and I'm glad I did because I got used to it and now I love it.

I find I usually use two hands unless i'm holding a beverage in another hand, then I can use it one handed to text thought it's difficult.

Operating this big phone with one hand has really improved my one-handed skills. I dropped it twice in the past month, but I caught it with one hand before hitting the ground both times :D

My big issue isn't with the Plus size itself but that there's nothing to justify getting the larger size. There's nothing available on the Plus that you can't do on the 4.7" size. Sure some things may have a split view like Messages, Settings and Mail but there's nothing that REALLY takes advantage of the higher resolution and larger screen.

I mean, if you want it because you watch a lot of video and .8" of screen size is make or break for you then fine. But I'm finding it really hard to justify lugging this thing around without something that makes it worthwhile.

OIS.

OIS (it definitely is a good to have for photo / video enthusiasts), extra battery life, better resolution and above all my favourite - a larger display of everything. You personally I find everything from typing to reading to watching videos and gaming having a far more enhancing experience with a bigger phone..

I bought the plus in the end of October and I love the screen. What's my problem is that I'm afraid to have the phone in my pockets because it's feels like it going to bend the phone. I looking for pants that have deeper pockets. Any suggestions?

That's exactly the problem that made me get a backup regular 6S.

The 6S Plus fits in uniform trousers and regular khakis, but it will not fit in regular over the counter 505's that you would tend to use on a hike.

The 6S+ is made of a very tough aluminum that is much stronger than last year's model. It will not bend in your pocket.

i thought the 6S+ would be too big but i got used to it real quick. very easy to use with either one or two hands. my only complaint would be that it can slip out your hands real easy because of the aluminium.

Went from a 5S to the 6S+ and personally I think it's the best iPhone I've used; despite the larger size. Surprisingly, the 6S+ can fit in most jeans without impairing your walking ability. It feels surprisingly thin and light in the pocket, which shocked me given it's visual size. I love having the larger screen for work tasks and games, plus the battery life is phenomenal.

Battery life alone justifies it. Coming from a 6 makes you realise just how much better the plus is in this area.

Finally I can weigh in on this thread since my 6S Plus was my Christmas gift. I'm not finding the one hand use too bad, I'm a male 5'11" with sorta piano player fingers though. We were at brunch today and my wife, dad, brother and my sister in law were looking at this monster and saying it wouldn't work for them (they have 6S and my wife has a 6, dad has a 5S) my counter was that I'm MORE than willing to trade what I'd guess is 33% more difficulty in use because of size for 100% (or more, depending on your view on Homer at the Bat's 100% argument :D) more enjoyable to use because of size.

Frankly if I knew how much the size would impact one handed use and portability I wouldn't have been as much on the fence in October/November as I was.

Holster case.

I am about your height. I too have no problem with handling the 6S plus one-handed.

Still happy I returned the Plus and went with a 6s. Battery life is good enough but I'm gonna buy the Apple battery case just for kicks. 6s is basically the perfect size.

I had a hard time deciding if I should chose the 6s or the 6s plus. I wanted to go with the plus but I didn't have a local apple shop to try it out first. In the end I bottled it but very happy still with my 6s

The same day I received a 6s from UPS, I stopped at the Apple Store to return my 6s+ and ended up grabbing a Smart Battery Case while I was there. Great case, and battery life with the case on it was a little better than the Plus.

I ended up returning the case only because the battery life on the 6s is good enough for me 90% of days. It was hard to justify the $120 after tax (case plus headphone extension) for the few times I would need to use it.
I still think that Smart Battery Case is a great design and works perfectly. At $69, I would have kept it for sure.

Swapped out my plus for 6s. Couldn't be happier. I do lose ois,1080p, and battery life, but one Handed use outweighes everything for me.

Did you use the reachability feature in 6+? .. I find it very useful and that helps me in operating the phone one handed.. Sadly I find it missing in all non Apple phones due to which using flagships like Samsung note, s6, lg series one handed is only a dream..

So is the case with 6s too.. You can't always use it one handed if you don't have the reachability feature.. So having it in 6s+ makes it almost similar to use like 6s provided you don't have small hands and fingers

I did. For me, I couldn't get to the other side of the keyboard with one hand.

I had the 6s first then went for the Plus for the better battery life and larger screen. Had it for 2 months now and im used to the size but I think I'm going to go back down to the 6s. I have chargers at home, work and car so im not worried about battery life. With the Plus ive almost dropped it a few times trying to do one handed operations on my commute. I realize now the size of the 6s is much better for my lifestyle.
