It'd actually be nice to be able to shuffle through the music player while I'm driving without having to use my hands. Maybe you can give the phone a name. "Oh Karl, play some random Nirvana ****...now!"
And this is new how ? My Android phones have had voice to text for years, voice to call, etc...but Apple will say it's "revolutionary" and "Magical"![]()
I think forbes is confusing iPhone 5 with iOS 5. IMO this "assistant" is a feature that an iP4 is more than capable of doing, and will get in the iOS 5 update.
I may not be remembering correctly but I thought I read an article that the i4 wont be supported with the voice assistant. Apple wants it in the processor upgraded handset.
I wasn't aware that I owned America's premier business publication and ran it as a blog, sir. But thank you for your kind words of advice.

On the contrary, I suspect that iPhone 4 will not receive the feature. I suspect Apple will say that they wanted to extend the feature to the iPhone 4 but only the latest greatest handset has the RAM and CPU horsepower to "deliver a quality experience."

Just like Facetime dude, I guess this will be this year's facetime........and I am an iPhone 4 user and don't plan to buy and Android phone, but the statements Apple do when they implement something that their competitors have had for years are plain ridiculous.
BTW, the iPhone 4 surely has enough power to handle this, just as lesser Android phones have had this feature before, however I am sure Apple won't implement it on current devices to give users an additional reason to upgrade, just like MMS on original iPhone and way too many other artificial limitations to list here.
Processing power is not a fixed variable for voice recognition. It probably could be done on the iPhone 4, but without a doubt it can be done better on the iPhone 5.
Yeah, it certainly needs super advanced software to work, again just like MMS couldn't run on an original iPhone (but curiously worked on countless dumbphones before.
